I have been working at Teach for America

    Pros

Life experiences that will challenge all your conventions about what it means to be a teacher and how to educate a child in today's American society.

    Cons

It is extremely tasking on your emotions and your social life. Your students will inspire you and motivate you to give them your all; it is impossible to be a teacher, social worker, psychologist, mother, father and moral compass to hundreds of children.

I worked at Teach for America as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The vibe is definitely hardworking - leaning towards type A - but still cool and collected, so it makes for a trusting environment. It's also work you can feel good about, has a strong feedback system, diverse, very very flexible working conditions at National HQ and supportive management. It's the gold standard for nonprofits, but be prepared to work long and hard.

    Cons

You might end up making less than similar positions in corporate America.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sometimes the sheer amount of flexibility made some teams feel disconnected from each other.
