Insightful

Intern (Current Employee)
San Francisco, CA (US)

I have been working at United Airlines as an intern for less than a year

Pros- Great exposure to aircraft systems
- Internship is applicable to a broad range of engineering disciplines. (Aerospace concentration is not required)
-Ability to travel stand-by on any United flight for free or heavily discounted price for international flights.
-Work hours are flexible

Cons- Salary is not commensurate to the location of employment
- Not the best place if you are seeking heavily technical oriented internship (i.e.doing equations or design work)
-Mundane but necessary paperwork and somewhat antiquated processes
-Lack of employment opportunities

Don't have enough front line employees… Advice to Senior Management: Cut your ranks in half. To much overhead and to much incompetence. … No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More

Lack of communication and respect

Ramp Service (Current Employee)
San Francisco, CA (US)

I have been working at United Airlines full-time for more than 10 years

Pros: The employees are great with genuine positive attitudes who really do care. Very wide range of ethnic groups that work well with each… Cons: Local Management is a "homeboy" group who only look out for themselves. The lack of respect and communication make it very… Advice to Senior Management: Clean "in-house"! You continue to employee individuals who receive several complaints against them. The only solution you provide is… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
