    Pros

There is great talent and opportunity at Williams-Sonoma with their network of brands and the quality of professionals that attracts.

    Cons

They processes are backwards and very slow, they are not open to change, and the upper management makes approvals difficult and is quick to point fingers when business gets tough instead of pulling their teams together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Purge some creative leaders and look for freshness in leadership that will take Williams-Sonoma to a new level for the 21st century.

I worked at Williams-Sonoma full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits were good, especially the employee discount. Get to work with food and cooking all day so it was fun to go into work. Some really fun casual employees. The product line was great.

    Cons

Several - Most customers that walk through the door are tire kickers. Hard to sell to these people and they end up being a waste of time when projects had to be done. No management accountability - DM was out of our city and hardly visited. They were nice and interested but the fact they never came allowed mismanagement at the stores level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just make sure you have the right people in the right spots and let the associates sell their way. too many rules and questions to ask the customer. The hubris of upper management will get the best of the company and it will assuredly deteriorate the company fabric.
