I worked at Windstream full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There are some very talented people there

    Cons

Salaried workers are expected to work as many as 100 hrs per week, as long as it takes to get the job done. My managers did not provide detail regarding what my deliverable was and did not provide feedback when requested, but blamed me and my team for a failed product. Other teams experienced the same treatment. In addition, highest mgt set a sales goal, which if reached, would give each employee a $1000 bonus. Goal was exceeded, but mgt would not pay the bonus - gave a stupid excuse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am not going to waste my time. They do not care about their workers.

Decent employer but their lack of technology leads to no job security

I have been working at Windstream full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits packages
    Decent wages
    Large company lends to mobility

    Cons

Very disorganized. They are bolstering what numbers they have to try to be acquired. Hopefully Verizon or AT&T will purchase them so their customers will get some desperately needed network upgrades. We are forced selling over-priced, sub par products with unrealistic goals. Marketing sets quotas but are not accountable to their own financial quotas. The system is very corrupted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont let marketing set quotas. All of the weight rests on the heads of the sales groups and marketing should be a part of the financial expectations, not setting them. Sales becomes the scapegoat of marketing under this system.
