I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You can learn a lot! Getting promoted is 100% up to you. If you can see past the day to day problems in working in customer service and see the big picture of building a business you will do great. Starting pay is definitely entry level, but you can make A LOT of money in a relatively short amount of time if you get promoted. Stay positive and you will succeed. The second you become a part of the negative banter in the office, go ahead and put your two weeks in because you will never get promoted.

    Cons

Working with so many entry level people has its challenges. So many people cannot deal with customer complaints or difficult situations so they complain. A LOT. If people are not successful right away it's "someone else's fault" and "the branch I work at is bad." Complacence is a huge problem as well. A lot of people lose their drive and are completely happy making peanuts working 50+ hours a week. They do not realize if you put all the negative energy into positive thoughts and solutions, you can make more money than you ever dreamed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great system! Move stale offices around more and shake them up!

    Pros

fast paced, opportunities for advancement, promote from within, sales incentives, fun young team of coworkers

    Cons

really long hours, can be transferred to a new branch location with little notice, sales numbers were often manipulated, required to wear very professional dress but often expected to wash and detailed cars, safety concerns picking up customers

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I was able to work with and learn from a great team of individuals. Most of us were close in age, and our regional manager did a great job of celebrating our accomplishments and keeping our spirits up when rentals got slow.

    Cons

Relatively low pay for how many hours you work, especially if you're on weekend duty or at the airport.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on delegation and more on being "hands on" with your staff - especially when there is so much turnover and moving around in each branch.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You will meet tons of people who may be able to get you a better job. If you make it to management you will truly learn what it means to run a business. Other companies specifically hunt down Enterprise Managers to hire because they know what you go through and what type of person you are.

    Cons

12 hour work days Monday -Friday. Most stores are moving towards extended Saturday hours and opening on Sundays. They will tell you that they reward hard work and you can make lots of money if you perform but be careful not to make too much. If you make too much they will find a reason to fire you or push you out so they can pay someone less to do your job. The customers are aweful. It's like working at Wal-Mart.

    Pros

You get to drive some cool cars and spend talk to a lot of interesting people.

    Cons

If you get stuck at a busy location you will be over-worked and underpaid. The amount of work you have to do at a busy Enterprise compared to what service agents at other locations do is crazy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with respect and make sure the busier locations have more than one service agent working.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern

    Pros

They promote completely from within so everyone understands what its like to work 12 hours days in a suit. Great corporate culture, they love to give back to the community. They offer great incentives to be successful in sales.

    Cons

12 hour days in a suit while you're outside a good amount.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Training, Family Atmosphere, Team Work, and rewarding (if you work hard), also they provide really good benefits and 401k

    Cons

LONG HOURS!! There are some politics that go on behind closed doors with upper lever management.
Training does exist, but you typically have to go ask for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lose touch with what made the company such a success to begin with, and don't allow upper level management to play so much politics.

Take care of customers, Reward hard work.......and let the profits and growth follow.

    Pros

Good pay, Awesome benefits, Decent people (most of the time), and great training.

    Cons

Very little "work life balance". You work 50 hours a week and a lot of branches are turning to a 7 day a week operation which makes this "balance" a lot harder. Its worth it for the money if you don't have a family to go home to.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There is potential to make a lot of money depending on your manager and area manager. If they are willing to take time to train you and develop you. The company believes in customer service and sticks to the company values.

    Cons

You can be moved to several offices and when you get momentum going you will get moved and setup for the next "challenge". When upper managerment write you off, you are done. Recognize it and find another job asap!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let employees spend more time in branches they are having success at.
