I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience and recognized as an excellent training program by outside companies. Can advance quickly if you hit your goals. Almost doubled starting salary in under three years. Other areas of opportunities if wanting something other than rental once you are eligible for promotions.

    Cons

Work life balance is brutal. Long hours with little time for family. Hard to schedule personal appointments because everything is closed when you get off. Industry is under appreciated and general public can be challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to find a way to implement a better work/life balance. Would retain quality employees if this happened- or pay more for the extra hours worked.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Loved working here because I got to meet different people everyday and hear their interesting stories of why they are in need of a rental car. Pay was decent but had potential when you got promoted to have full use of a car everyday as a branch manager. Got to drive different cars all the time so I learned what I liked and didnt like about certain makes/models.

    Cons

Long hours....worked from 7:30am-6:00pm. At the time I didnt have a kid so I didn't care. But when I think about my situation now, it would've been very hard to work this out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would love if they adjusted the schedule to make it more accomodating for people with familiies.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Training was awesome. Great recognition for performance. Company takes itself very seriously so they train all level employees to do the same. That is a good confidence booster for future career goals.

    Cons

No employee loyalty. Heavy work load, long hours, under paid for your entire career there. It is not uncommon to work 6:30am to 9pm for your first three years at the company. The culture is very close knit. Employees feel like Enterprise is the only thing happening in the world. To a career minded employee, it is!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more. Appreciate the team more to gain more long term employees.

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Unlimited chances for promotion
    Highly Regarded Training Program
    Your Boss Understands Your Job
Great for People Looking to do Sales

    Cons

    Married to Job(not by choice)
Must Have Sales Skills to Promote
Putting Up With Customers who Treat you Poorly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use criteria in addition to Sales to promote such as Leadership Skills, Fleet Management, ESQI Scores(individual) and criteria that could be used in other parts of the company such as repairs or risk management.

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The atmosphere is great. Everyone I've known that's worked here is positive and energetic in the workplace. It's better for people who have been involved in sports throughout their lives, they hire a lot of former athletes and it's easier to get along with your coworkers if you match that qualification.

    Cons

There are long hours, about 7am-6pm, 5 days a week, that can bother seem people but they don't seem as long as they sound, days go by quickly. The other downside is that if you want to move up you'll have to move around to different branches. This isn't really a problem in a big city where there are many branches but if you start in a smaller town you may have to move.
