I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience and recognized as an excellent training program by outside companies. Can advance quickly if you hit your goals. Almost doubled starting salary in under three years. Other areas of opportunities if wanting something other than rental once you are eligible for promotions.

    Cons

Work life balance is brutal. Long hours with little time for family. Hard to schedule personal appointments because everything is closed when you get off. Industry is under appreciated and general public can be challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to find a way to implement a better work/life balance. Would retain quality employees if this happened- or pay more for the extra hours worked.

    I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

    Pros

Promote from within, working with like-minded, young, competitive people was a huge bonus. You can definitely build some life-long friendships working here. Move your way up the ladder as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort. Profit sharing/401K is great and a nice thing to add up every year you contribute. Love that everyone starts at the same place - it gets easier to talk to people higher up because they can relate to situations you've gone thru.

    Cons

Politics in people getting moved up, looked at as a negative if you are not willing to pick up your life and move to an obscure town, long hours with compensation not nearly as great as of pay in management positions as in other jobs. Work Life balance is preached but if you want to achieve success is extremely difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know your people and build honest relationships with them. They will work harder for your if you actually spend time to get to know them.

    Pros

Great work environment which includes constantly meeting new co-workers making new business relationships and friends too. Get to drive different cars frequently if you're into vehicles. Great management structure with room for advancement.

    Cons

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going - you can be in professional clothing and have to clean a car in the busy/understaffed situations!

I have been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Career opportunities are on performance not seniority so you really have control on the direction you want to move. Sales culture from day one and very competitive- in a good way... Employees respect each other and no-one tries to cheat from each other- "Competition is with you rather than the person next to you". Pay is extremely competitive in comparison to other companies. You run the branches just like if a business owner. Employee appreciation hours and other incentives when performing (gift cards, lunches, paid time off, whatever motivates you....)

    Cons

washing cars in hot South Florida, long hours (49 hrs per week), but hey, if that was "your business", wouldn't you do it anyways? Besides, it is not hard work... you just have to be willing...
