I have been working at Ernst & Young
Pros – Many Opportunities
Global Firm - resources/travel
Processes - quicker learning in specialist field
Cons – If you don't fit the box, it can be difficult to find opportunities and grow
Change takes time, and most of the time its very difficult for the company to improve.
Advice to Senior Management – Dare, risk.

I worked at Ernst & Young as an intern
Pros – There was a good work culture, the work was varied and lots of freedom given in terms of work hours and people were friendly and willing to offer assistance when asked. There were lots of social/team bonding activities and lots of other young people there whom I could ask for advice. There were good amenities too.
Cons – The hours were terrible (even though I was an intern) and not worth the pay. Lots of red tape especially with things like 'counselling' and training courses. The pressure was sometimes overwhelming especially in peak periods and you're often left on your own. As an intern, I was sometimes left days on end with nothing to do despite asking multiple times.
Advice to Senior Management – Improve communication between upper management and lower employees. Having more diversity in upper management (no female partners in my division) and be more prepared for interns.

I worked at Ernst & Young full-time for more than a year
Pros – Work life balance and the ability to grow your career. It's a truly great place to work early in your career as you are exposed to so much. The support structures in place are highly desirable to any new hire as well.
Cons – Underpaid for the great work you do.
Advice to Senior Management – Increase wages and improve communication from partners to graduates.

I worked at Ernst & Young as an intern
Pros – People there were very nice, very willing to help. Granted the directors were extremely busy but the managers and other consultants were always willing to help. It was a very pleasant experience.
Cons – The work given was not very exciting. Did not get to meet any clients, but understandable for an intern.

I worked at Ernst & Young as an intern for less than a year
Pros – - Open plan office, partners and seniors very accessible.
- Nice work culture, friday drinks etc.
The company had a good HR department and a great work culture. There were always other social things to do, and Friday drinks in the common areas was good.
Cons – - Narrow focus on the resources industry (in Perth)
- Work in Tax was boring
- Work was not pre-planned for the internship, and not much was available at that time of year.
There didn't seem to be any work pre-prepared for the internship, and due to the nature of the work, there wasn't much available in Tax R&D at the time of the internship.
