Pros – Rewarded for Sales Achievements
Goal Oriented but not Micro-Managed
Fun Work Environment
Cons – Its clothes retail....there will be slow times when you'll be doing "busy work" such as refolding clothes and "teacupping" shirts.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep it up!!!

Pros – - Great for Type-A personalities in retail
- Staff becomes family
- decent employees discount with extra off at the start of quarters
Cons – - environment can be stressful and demanding
- unrealistic standards
- long closes
- Work/Life balance decreases heavily with promotion
Advice to Senior Management – Competitors pay associates more or the same for less work. Give more hours to small stores with high traffic and volume to retain staff's top talent. Also, give yearly raises when the associate reaches that milestone, and NOT once in every may. The pay and work is not worth it.

Pros – Great place to develop skills in the retail world. Has great training programs and commitment to better internal candidates for promotions. Experience gained at Express also weighs heavily on your resume in a positive way for future jobs with other retailers.
Cons – Sometimes you feel to pressured to buy buy buy constantly to help make numbers.
Advice to Senior Management – Remember the Core Values of the company.

Pros – I was promoted very fast, I work with great people, and I get a decent discount
Cons – No real cons for a retail job except there are other retail store that pay a lot more. My only real issues is that my sm is a control freak who still manages to lack follow through on important tasks such as payroll issues.

Pros – The employee discounts are totally worth it. Plus meeting lots of people is a great benefit. The work isn't hard at all.
Cons – No chairs at all in the back! Chairs would be nice if you spend your whole shift folding clothes. Shoplifters are irritating since you really can't confront them.

Pros – I really do make a difference in people's lives. I work in a fast-paced enviroment, so there is never a dull moment. The associates are amazing. The previous SM was not good. The current SM is a world of a difference and when the right people are working, it makes everything smooth.
Cons – Little incentives. Pay is not close to what it should be for all the work that keeps the store going. Lack of pay for basic associates means a high turnover rate, but we do recruit the best. It is rare to leave when you're scheduled to leave.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay the associates more than the minimum.

Pros – I enjoy my time at Express, and I enjoyed learning a few things about how to put together an outfit
Cons – The hours are in the most inconvenient times of the day. As a student, my total time commuting takes up a good portion of my day, and what I'm paid barely covers the transport cost to and fro. There is always a pressure to get NEXT, although it doesn't seem to correlate to anything besides "Employee of the Month" type status
Advice to Senior Management – What is the incentive for getting NEXT as an employee?

Pros – Great on-site training in sales, customer service and even management. Great employee discounts (especially on extra discount weekends), decent pay and a sense of camaraderie among all workers.
Cons – Stingy management at times and a loud work environment. There are opportunities for advancement, but they are few and far between and usually only come after years of company employment.

Pros – Great Employee discounts and always know the current trend
Cons – You must wear their clothes
Advice to Senior Management – Appreciate your associates

Pros – clothing and discount is great and we can wear jeans to work every day
I learned a lot about retail here
Cons – they set high expectations but don't really show you how to meet them.
Some employees are extremely lazy but nothing is said to them, which leaves even more work for everyone else.
Advice to Senior Management – Let employees know that they have a chance to be promoted to give them incentive to work hard.
Don't expect the same behaviors to produce better results each year, change the behaviors if you want to see growth. Give stores more payroll. It's hard to give a good customer experience on two man coverage.
