    Pros

Great collection of people - very smart people under the hood.

    Cons

As a company that quickly grew through M&As, they don't have a clear and winning culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't ignore the soft stuff of employee satisfaction. People will work for you if the money is good, but they won't follow you with heart and soul of they don't believe in you. Sounds like jargon but it's real at FTI.

Hired guns for the litigation industry. Not really a morally correct job. Huge company

    I worked at FTI Consulting

    Pros

The best reasons to work here include the potential to broad exposure of various projects. Fairly competitive salary (compared to Navigant and other small consulting firms).

    Cons

Cons: Minimal training (Consultants are expected to learn mostly on the job, which is only ok if your manager is good at training or if you're very good at teaching yourself.) No organized career management (Again, you're on your own to find opportunities that broaden your skill set or help you develop an expertise. If you can get fortunate to team up with a strong director and an even stronger Partner that you have great chemistry with, then you're set. Otherwise, you can be left behind because the company does not have a organized format to develop their consultants.) Compensation is not transparent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please focus on building value in the short and long-term by making sustainable hiring and sales decisions. Although a high level of turnover is normal in the industry, it pays to invest in your current employees.

I worked at FTI Consulting as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Overall good experience. Work directly under MDs on projects. Will put you on the road for certain cases. Learned a lot about the lifestyle and nature of consulting from traveling and working directly with clients. Good pay.

    Cons

If business is slow, work can be extremely boring. In addition, large learning curve to a lot of the work you will be doing, and not much training, even if you are a finance person.
