Former Employee – worked at Florida International University part-time for more than a year
Pros – - Beautiful location, surrounding, weather, environment
- Lots of eye candy attraction/distraction to lure young minds
- Preferable for people willing to make their way to the top, starting from the very bottom
Cons – - Money is nowhere to be found in Miami
- The Teaching Assistants are underpaid, especially considering the expensive lifestyle of such metropolitan city like Miami
- International students are left stranded in an isolated life, not being taken care of properly by University community
- Sometimes assistantship positions requires doing low level work, which international students are forced to do, rather risk academic future in order to pay tuition and bills.

Current Employee – been working at Florida International University full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Nice location, beautiful campus and students are eager to learn.
Cons – Parking, Inept management, high turnover of staff.
Advice to Senior Management – Fix the inefficiency in getting things done correctly. Staff loses forms and material that has been submitted and they keep asking for the same documents over and over again. Management is very inefficient.

Current Employee – been working at Florida International University part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – This is a really great environment to work. It's friendly, and a rather great place to be. Management is competent, reliable and friendly as well. Lots of room for growth. The university is definitely going places, and so are it's employees! Upper management communicates rather well with everyone else, and the chain of command is rather clear and concise.
Cons – Not as innovative as it could possibly be.
