I have been working at Forest Labs full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Forest was a company that offered a great deal of rapid upward mobility to many individuals. The current change brought about by restructuring and the sale to Actavis will likely continue to create opportunities for some individuals. The diversity of Forest's product portfolio allows the company to compete in several large therapeutic areas.

    Cons

Senior management failed to capitalize on the revenue windfall generated by Lexapro and Namenda in their hey-day. Clinging to an antiquated commercial sales and marketing model has negatively affected earnings growth. Conducting business "with blinders on" weakened the stock price and allowed for a takeover by Actavis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Forest will continue to function as an operating unit of Actavis it will be important to restructure senior management in sales, marketing, and contracting. The current group has proved unwilling to consider best practices executed by contemporaries in the industry. In a very direct manner this has led to the downfall of a once great sales and marketing organization. It will be imperative to introduce a culture willing to consider innovative ways of doing business in the new health care economy.

    I worked at Forest Labs

    Pros

Forest used to have a great benefit package, a holiday party that spared no expense, a company-wide picnic and other perks. The culture varies depending on the department, the management and the chemistry with your co-workers. Great place for growing if you are interested in the pharmaceutical industry

    Cons

It has gone through a change and the future is uncertain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Forest Labs full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This company offers work that could have great career potential, except that Forest would rather use a temp worker for four years and never hire him, then lay him off while he is still a temp. The employees are generally good to work with though, and the work itself is interesting.

    Cons

This company does not care about its employees. It only really cares about profits. The fact that they kept a temp worker on for four years without hiring him is absolutely disgraceful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop compassion and emotions and a sense of gratitude and loyalty to your employees, including temporary workers!

I worked at Forest Labs full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nothing good to say about Forest. Sober up Actavis, you are marrying a pig wearing lipstick who is being controlled by an Icahn sock puppet.

    Cons

Nothing good to say about Forest. Glad to be gone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to treat people. Learn how to demonstrate gratitude consistently. Learn what it means to be a servant leader. Learn that happy employees and high morale with positive reinforcement for achievements is what drives success.

I worked at Forest Labs full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Lot's of work, minimal supervision, flexi-time, laptops to do your work, new equipment, great supervisors, great lab manager, modern, fair.

    Cons

Interdepartment communication could be better, organisation could be better, a more focused approach to daily activities would be very beneficial to waste less time trying to figure out what's to be done, too much waiting for confirmations to carry out certain actions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a more harmonious work environment with less contradictions and more communication.
