Director (Former Employee) Livermore, CA (US)

ProsTalented, intelligent employees who have an established track record of success

ConsAlthough a quality product and talented leadership , the growth of the company has been limited due to underlying costs of operations.

Advice to Senior ManagementReduce cost of operations.

Niche market for Probe card technology

    Senior Principal Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsContinuous learning from different process is limitless! Challenging! Nice gym!

ConsNot profitable 3 years in a row, continue to downsize and cost reduction. Uncertain. Support 24/7 and weekends. Stress level is high.Politicking is huge.Good working employees have been laid off or resign. No loyalty and does not protect good employees. If your good in 'talking' and presenting and NOT working it's a good place to be, just need to jump in on every email thread and talk the talk but not walk the walk this is a good place to be...

Advice to Senior ManagementA lot of floating Directors, Staff Engineers and Senior Principals that need to streamlines and who really does NOT go in the line or inside Fab. Not deserving of the salaries in regards with their outputs.Need to flash out the employees that every time in the PC and nothing to give to the company...

Overall ok, need better strategic direction from management to direct the hardwork to meaningful results

Process Engineer (Current Employee) Livermore, CA (US)

ProsIndependence and flexibility to work, opportunity to be involved in multiple areas, lot on learning in a quick time and more challenges

ConsGood work not always gets credit, politics and finger pointing increased over years, used to have many good people, but mostly have left, talking skills dominate over actual output in career growth. Too many layoffs and company not making profit for last 5 years

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed better focus of goals from management and better channeling of efforts and appreciate good work on merit basis. The bureaucracy needs to be reduced. Business model needs to be reassessed.

Company may not be in business much longer. Just OK.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Livermore, CA (US)

ProsOne of the few high tech companies in the East Bay. Decent pay and benefits, however these are slowly being taken away due to the company not being profitable. Still some very good folks working there.

ConsPoor management - they do not value long term employees and the skills they bring. Company has not been profitable for several years and it is an impact on company morale. There have been about 7 or 8 layoff's in the past 5 years. Jobs are not very secure as the company is always restructuring. Overtime is only paid after 10 hours for manufacturing personnel. Very poor engineering support of the manufacturing line.

Advice to Senior ManagementToo many senior level managers. Layoff's always affect manufacturing and engineering. It would be better to keep the more senior manufacturing people than to bring in new folks and layoff the ones who have helped to build the company.

Business is dying a slow death. Just burning cash.

Senior Financial Analyst (Former Employee) Livermore, CA (US)

ProsGreat location for those living out in East Bay/Tri-Valley, nice area. Lots of good people but most have already left.

ConsThe company is permanently in downsizing mode. Management needs to realize they can't create demand for something that the industry doesn't need. It had a great run but needs to re-size the business, change strategy, go private. The recession really killed this place. Doing more with less. Everyone wears many hats

Advice to Senior ManagementTake the company private.
