Great place to learn

Network Engineer (Current Employee)
Kawasaki, Kanagawa (Japan)

I have been working at Fujitsu full-time for more than 3 years

Pros- provide employees with great learning opportunities such as internal & external training, boot camp etc

Cons- seniors dominate everything.
- very little chances for the juniors in decision making
- long work hours
- not a friendly place for foreign employee

Not a bad company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Fujitsu full-time for more than a year

ProsFriendly work environment
Relaxed depending on contract
Opportunities for the lucky ones
Great for getting your foot in the IT industry

ConsSometimes management are unable to make decisions and issues are left in limbo.

Fujitsu is a very process heavy company and this can cause a great deal of issues. If a user is experiencing a problem, rather than straight up fixing an issue if there is very little to no impact the company will choose to insist on following process causing a delay to the user.

Pay is terrible compared to other companies. They do not offer a competitive salary.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop your staff and give them a reason to want to stay within the company. I understand you need frontline staff to stay frontline, but give them a chance to take on a little more responsibility if they choose and ensure to reward them. Give them a chance to experience a feeling of self satisfaction at the end of the day.

Not the worse but not the best

Senior Installation Engineer and Commisioner (Former Employee)
Solihull, England (UK)

I worked at Fujitsu as a contractor for more than 3 years

ProsGood salaries
Left to complete your work
Varied tasks on each install

ConsComplete inept supervisors
Was once asked to drive from Llandudno to Skegnees to deliver a cable that was 3 meters long on a Saturday. Would have cost over ££250 in wages plus fuel. Put it in an envelope and posted guaranteed Next Day delivery for £6

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the workers, not the guys covering their own arses

ConsThe downside for this company are many unnecessary expenditures. Need to upgrade all it systems as well. .

Last 10 Years.. Good to Bad to Awful

Director (Current Employee)
Vancouver, BC (Canada)

I have been working at Fujitsu full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThere's only two good things about Fujitsu. It's a big name to put on your resume and most positions let you work from home if needed.

ConsSpending freezes, 1 to 2 % delayed raises, fixed performance reviews, no opportunities for advancement, no social functions and old boys club mentality.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe innovative, make a difference and get your head out of the sand!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Relaxed government IT consulting

Software Developer (Current Employee)
Quebec, QC (Canada)

I have been working at Fujitsu full-time for more than a year

ProsEasy work, short hours, everybody is very friendly. The office is a very new building that is well situated. Pay is slightly above average for quebec city.

ConsIncreasingly, decisions are taken from the USA main headquarters, many highly skilled employees are leaving. Budgets are tight and that's not fun.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet more interesting projects to work on.

Highly politicized, you can still find good friends if you look really hard.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Cyberjaya (Malaysia)

I have been working at Fujitsu full-time for more than a year

ProsHardworking people. If you like routine and stable job without worrying about your wages, this is the place for you. Whether you perform or not, there is very little difference to whatever outcome.

ConsManagers were hired base on relationships, not qualifications. You can expect ground-level people to get way below market wages. Crony managers are well over-paid but channel all their work to the ground-level and non-crony people. Meeting discussions consist of blame-elements instead of solutions. Management preaches about how much they care about the team. Actions are total opposite. There is no clear career path to follow. There is not even an updated organization chart to understand the company's hierarchy.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou are where you where because of the ground-level people, not your bosses or cronies. If you want respect and loyalty, you need to pay and earn them. Exploiting your subordinates will only dig your own grave.
