    Boring company

Engineer (Current Employee) Richardson, TX (US)

    ProsPeople are friendly.
    Close to Starbucks.

    ConsSlow in doing things.
    Too much politics.
If you enjoy working for an old company (technology and infrastructure) this is the place.
Working on Layer 1 is boring and the chance for you to get a better job elsewhere is small.

It was nice but could of been better.

Machine Operator I (Former Employee) Richardson, TX (US)

Prosfriendly environment, onsite cafeteria, onsite temp agency manager, most supervisors work well with employees. The work place is clean and tidy. a very nice working environment.

Consemployees don't advance in position to often, temps are kept for extremely long period of time without being hired in or given the opportunity to be hired in. Raises are rare and when given it is usually small and rarely make a difference on the employees paycheck.

Advice to Senior ManagementUtilize Talk to Power, hire the temps in as full time employees. Have better raises and give raises on at least a yearly bases.

    Once great company, no direction

Software Engineer (Former Employee) Richardson, TX (US)

ProsA lot of talented people still here. Enjoyable to work with. Interesting technology.

ConsDedicated effort by upper management to out-source and off-shore everything. Brutal s/w delivery schedules. Layoffs routine. No effort to recruit/hire new/young people. No one knows where anything is headed. Most people are looking for the exits.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou're building an environment with no discernible future for any of your employees.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good company to work for with a reputable history in telecommunications.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Richardson, TX (US)

ProsExecutive leadership is taking real steps towards improvement. Relaxed atmosphere in the work place, and a balanced work/life approach. Many employees have been there for decades, so retention is very good.

ConsMany employees have been there for decades, so change is difficult to come by sometimes.

Advice to Senior ManagementWould like to see a younger office culture, more professional dress, and programs to help employee career growth.

No longer a good company to work for because leadership has no vision

Principal Engineer (Current Employee) Richardson, TX (US)

    Prosgood compensation package and flexible

Consaside from decent compensation, there is absolutely nothing good about this company. leadership at director / VP and above know nothing to run business. they try to constantly change directions and thee is no vision. extremely low moral.

Advice to Senior ManagementRebuild leadership levels from Director , VP to top executives.

    Lots of Old Timers

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe Salaries are decent, and most of the people are friendly
Benefits could be a bit better, but could be a lot worse.

    ConsNo corporate strategy whatsoever
No new product in the pipeline
    S_L_O_W development times and cycles
    Hierarchical culture
    Dearth of training opportunities
    Slaves to SAP

Advice to Senior ManagementThe reorg looked great on paper, but the culture is still largely the same. It's time to develop a strategy based on new technologies and stick with it. It's also time to reevaluate the benefit of owning manufacturing. Maybe contract manufacturing is the way to go.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
