    Pros

    I would recommend working at Global Custom Commerce if you are in Marketing, Accounting, Sales or Custom Service. The employees and upper management are friendly, intelligent and they're the leader in the blinds industry for that reason. It stands a great chance of weathering the financial storms and I always felt the CEO and leads of the Marketing, Accounting and Sales departments were extremely proficient in their leadership.

    Cons

    Even though it is an ecommerce company, IT is the least-funded and least respected department. It is referred to as "the worst IT department ever" within the company, mostly due to IT leadership hampering the otherwise extremely competent workers. While bonuses are handed out fairly to all other departments, few in IT got bonuses. Compensation for engineers is below average. There is a preference throughout the company for instant gratification over stable systems, leading to websites that require constant maintenance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Taking a very competent website and trying to code it in a different language based on the CTO's preferences without consulting outside analysts was probably a bad move. Historically, they usually end in failure as defined as over budget, past deadline and not nearly worth the cost.
