Flexibility - In my department, employees had the opportunity to work from home if needed

    Cons

Environment - Obliviously, mining companies aren't the most environmentally-friendly companies to work for.

    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, their Canadian mines seem more stable,

    Cons

They seam to be abandoning their smaller mines along with the people who work at them, which contradicts one of the six pillars (the companies alleged core philosophy) they are selling all their US assets which means people are getting laid off

    Advice to Management

    Quit selling out

    Pros

Strong corporate values that put people first which is truly amazing for a mining company. The company offers a culture of excellence and those who work at Goldcorp are among the best and brightest in their field.

    Cons

Goldcorp is a very entrepreneurial company and constantly evolving and changing. This type of environment is not for everyone and requires a good dose of ambiguity tolerance.

  7. A great traineeship at the mine.

    Pros

The opportunity to dig into the operational life of the Merrill-Crowe plant.

    Cons

Geographical isolation, however, that is the norm and not the exception in mining industry.

    Advice to Management

To meet western or european standards and increase leave times.
