Great Company, Great People, Unlimited Education

I worked at Google as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

I worked at Google as a contractor for about 8 months. I came in knowing next to nothing about sales and left knowing almost everything about cloud technology, SalesForce and of course Google products. Even when you are in a contractor role, they invest a lot of time and energy into making you successful. I learned more in those months than I have at any other position in the last 3-4 years. Could not recommend an experience more.

    Cons

Kids managing kids (although they do it pretty well), separation between contractors and full time, inconsistent career paths

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work

I worked at Google full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    lots of smart people.
ability to meet a lot of clients from all industries
    great reputation
    benefits are fantastic
ability to travel to various google offices

    Cons

The company towards the last part of my tenure has been way too political for my taste.
The other issue is that the company was sometimes too slow to react to certain threats (eg social) which was disappointing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out ways to make the company less political
Hire less people with consulting background.

I have been working at Google full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Working with some of the smartest people in the world on products used by millions.
    2. Great diversity of products you can potentially work on.
    3. Offices around the world, so you don't have to be in Silicon Valley.
    4. Very humane culture. E.g., you're encouraged not to work late and not to do email on weekends. Generous perks are another aspect of this.

    Cons

    1. Male/female ratio (although this is an industry-wide issue, and Google is working hard to address it).
    2. Design and product quality still not consistently high enough. However, they're very conscious of it and it's improving quickly.

I have been working at Google as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

The people I've worked with at Google have been awesome, genuine love for the company and their jobs. Was able to take part in a number of very interesting projects while interning there that had a big impact on my local community. The local Google employees were great mentors and provided tremendous help with our projects and professional development.

    Cons

Big company, a lot is happening some times. Projects can be a little crazy and often times can lack specific direction.

I have been working at Google full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Brilliant people.
    College campus community feel.
    Interesting, new experiences everyday.
The biggest company in the world

Working at Google is like being on a huge college campus with tons of brilliant people all working together and having fun doing it. The ambience is like its own planet. Intelligence is embraced, and you get autonomy to try new things and the resources to learn everyday.

    Cons

None, if you work hard consistently. Problems only occur when you're not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing. It's very unique and productive. The only thing I would suggest is to take a look at the hiring process for recruiters. I think we've turned away some amazing talent because we tend to look for
