Former Employee – worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – * good culture - a bunch of passionate people trying to do the right thing for their customers
* good working environment
Cons – * HP should be selling business value, not technology leadership.
* Meg Whitman is trying to do the right thing but HP seems lost.
Advice to Senior Management – * This is not rocket science - focus on delivering business value to your clients, listen to your (passionate) employees, get rid of the non-value adding politicians who suck the life out of the organisation.

Current Employee – been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than a year
Pros – Big company with brand recognition
Used to be known for product quality
Cons – Anyone with talent has left the company in last year
New managers have no degrees, no management experience
All processes internally are really bad - takes CEO to approve a hire
Don't bother, they don't want people that think, have an education or are passionate. If you want to be drone, give it a try.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop the bureaucracy honestly - don't just give it lip service.
Listen to your customers - stop ignoring the problems, make people accountable.
Hire and retain the best - stop promoting those that just outlasted the rest. Look for people with proven results, and eduction.
