I worked at Hilton Worldwide part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Legitimate work from home opportunity. You are allowed to build your own schedule within certain parameters. Excellent training program and free and reduced cost hotel stays. They even provide 401(k) benefits for part time employees. Good options for advancement.

    Cons

If you have equipment malfunction or power outage you need to run into the main call center to make your shift. I found few cons during my time there. This was a part time opportunity to help pay the bills while I was searching for full time employment in my field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reservation Center is well run.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Being able to work from home is the only reason to do this job.

    Cons

Even with experience, no opportunity to advance. Bonus programs changed to minimize how much they have to pay top performers. Paid time off is difficult to get approved and constant abuse from horrible customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Route proper calls to skilled agents. Judge performance and pay accordingly. There's no point in reviewing data when it's completely useless information. When random calls are routed to the wrong departments, it's impossible to gauge an employee's effectiveness.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, the Team Member Travel program is alright when you can get it to work. It's fun to work for the number one hotel company in the world- nice to feel like you're a part of something bigger that keeps growing every day.

    Cons

Team Member Travel Program needs some serious work, like I said, it's nice when you can get it to work for you, but most of the time nothing you want is available. Your hotel's EC could be full of some people who don't care about their teams (like mine) yet corporate thinks they're gold. Also there's no such thing as work/life balance here, but such is the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since I work at one of the largest and most profitable resorts, I've met a lot of the Hilton Worldwide Executive Team, and for the most part they're great. The major con is the company is making it all about the money, less about the guest experience. Chris, no one will want to stay in your 100 new hotels opened this year if you don't give them enough staff to provide that exceptional guest experience. We're making money again, stop gutting your hotels and making your employees miserable.

I worked at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people, work/life culture and corporate environment. They recently improved the benefits/vacation policy.

    Cons

Lack of upward mobility in some departments. Salary is not always comparable to industry standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall, upper management is doing a good job at running the company. You may want to consider improving the employee friends and family hotel discount program.
