I have been working at Hyatt full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Company culture is like no other I've experienced. I have never worked at a place with so many positive, upbeat and friendly people. The perks and benefits are great but mostly it's about the people. .

    Cons

My particular Hotel is over 35 years old. They have done an excellent job maintaining it but I believe it may be time for a renovation. Good news is I am told that one is scheduled to begin in soon.

I have been working at Hyatt part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I love bartending for the Hyatt. The clientele is wonderful, the hourly wage is higher than most food services positions, the tips are great and the management is outstanding. The Hyatt offers travel discounts for all employees and benefits if you work full-time hours.

    Cons

The hours are long, which is typical in this industry.

I have been working at Hyatt full-time

    Pros

Very friendly environment with family culture. A lot of potential to grow as company is fast expanding.

    Cons

Limited options to move to as properties are not represented everywhere like other major chains.

Former Employee - Front Desk Agent

I worked at Hyatt full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Free Food, Comp rooms and discounts on almost everything, flexible schedule if you are in school, transfers to other properties after a year. Some managers are really there for you and want to help you grow. it is a family because you have to depend on your co workers to keep you sane.

    Cons

HR in some properties are horrible. They only help people that they are friends with and have different rules for everyone else. It's hard to get a transfer in some properties if you do not fit their image, lots of turn overs so there are always new employees, no proper training. new agents get thrown into a sold out night without any training therefore they quit soon after hiring. Promotions are very hard to come by since most supervisor positions have been cut out the same with housekeeping

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within before you hire someone from the outside especially if that person is already doing the job yet is denied the promotion and has to train the new person. Have better training and more experienced agents work with the newer agents longer than 2 weeks. Boost morale instead of sending negative information all the time
