I have been working at Ingersoll-Rand full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Extremely competitive compensation & benefits, beautiful North America headquarters in Davidson, NC, approachable, caring & open-minded CEO, great people, many opportunities for growth & development for high performers
Cons – lacks diversity in many areas, 'good ole boy' network still exists in pockets, risk adverse
Advice to Senior Management – Leaders who may produce but undermine the company value's by disrespecting others (i.e. yelling, cursing, etc.) should not be tolerated.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Ingersoll-Rand full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good product overall , a bit expensive.
Cons – some regional managers have other agendas in mind, rather than letting the salespeople flurish, they look after their bonus instead. you bring in new customers and then they dont need you anymore.
You might be better off to look at office staff position rather then sales.
Advice to Senior Management – Beware of the lower managers and what they are doing, its not always what they say.

I have been working at Ingersoll-Rand full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Lots of room for growth, and new development within other business sectors. Competitive pay, promotions from within. Excellent health and benefits.
Cons – corporate culture can be overwhelming at times. Often you feel like a number in the system rather than a human. Local decisions are made from so far up the COC they can't begin to imagine the difference in theory and application.
Advice to Senior Management – try to involve local management more.

I have been working at Ingersoll-Rand full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Lots of work, easy to please, fair pay, good benefits. Safety is truly a top priority with time and money not being overriding issue.
Cons – This is not a place that changes fast, for better or worse. You must be able to let some issues slide for a time before action will be taken.
Advice to Senior Management – When hiring new management make sure they know and understand the roles of the people they will manage.

I have been working at Ingersoll-Rand full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – NONE unless you are not motivated to make a better living and move up in the company. But if you're just a floater milking it temporarily you'll be fine there. And I say temporarily because the milk truck is going to be breaking down soon when it becomes a Grainger-type place with $10/hr employees.
Cons – Horrible management. Total incompetence on all levels. It's NOT a performance-based company, hence all the incompetence. People who barely made it through high school got all the high-paying management positions due ONLY to nepotism and brown-nosing. HR is a joke - good luck getting your first paycheck! Over-all it's a culture of disrespect unless you're there because you're someone's relative in the company.
Advice to Senior Management – LEAD! Learn how to actually manage, Stop biting the hands that feed you!

I have been working at Ingersoll-Rand
Pros – Good efforts to improve structure.
Cons – Take long to do so, the case with many large organizations.
Too many tactical and time consuming responsibilities.
