    Salaries are competitive within the area and provide great training to all employees for self and experience improvement. Raise incentives are fair.

    Benefits. Their benefits are good. They should think about reducing the cost

    They are not employee oriented. They focus on revenue and do not pay accordinly. They are growing so fast and do not care what's on the way

    I have been working at Interstate Hotels full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great understanding of work life balance, good benefits also a gives good 401k match. Growth is really up to the General Managers on property which I found was helpful and invigorating

    Cons

    After transition no effort was made for internal candidates of getting interviews or being looked over first than non internal candidates sad since I have been with Interstate for more than 8 years and I will be leaving after our inland sale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Look after your Internal candidates send a all out email to all hiring managers to consider internal applicants. There are other good management companies Interstate is just the largest right now you must keep your best employees.

    There are a lot of processes in place, support is ok, pay is great

    Cons

    but it really depends on what location you are at as ultimately there is a large disconnect from the core corporate office from the property level. There are many General Managers that are just not good, but they are good at massaging corporate staff to keep their job. There should be more action in cleaning the complacent out and invigorating the property with real talent

    a long term employee with high performance history and impeccable record should hold some weight if for the first time ever, they report a major problem to corporate- listen to your tenured employees- they know the real story

    Full time benefits, 401k no matter what position of hotel you are in

    Cons

    Travel discounts have to be applied for in HR and are very rarely (if ever) given. Management does not care about lower employees. Hard work goes unrecognized & soon becomes expected. Bad behavior goes unpunished and therefore continues. At night there is no management to see the horrible behavior of some employees.

    Diverse portfolio of hotels, access to many brands.

    Cons

    poor benefit package, limited work/life balance, high turnover at corporate level and hotel management makes for many organization changes. Obvious they care about making money, not about their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Simple, value your employees, allow them to be happy with their employment, which will encourage them to provide better genuine hospitality to your guests. This will create happier guests/clients, repeat business and better word of mouth advertising/referrals. All adding up to revenue growth!
