I worked at J.B. Hunt full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Lots of work
at Least its a job
Cons – Where do I start? Work and Life balance is terrible. They avoid paying for things like breakdowns. Often miss (avoid?) paying for extras like drop and hooks, unloading times. Too much power given to store associates in paperwork that effects pay. Pay is wrong all the time, yet that problem is never fixed, it just keeps happenning. Avoidance is the standard way to take on problems. If you are a problem child, or they even think you are, you are terminated. They have a really poor culture that just keeps on getting passed through as people play the game and move up by being quiet, Health and safety concerns at this location. No sick days, threaten you with firing. Bad insurance program.
They are terrified of unionization.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop plugging in newbies in both management and driving force. The avoidance factor is unreal there. Fix problems, but more importantly start listening to your employees, otherwise you'll stay a last resort. You should really think about fixing these issues, because the driving universe has the goods on you.

I worked at J.B. Hunt full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Great experience working with a vast array of different industries, good health insurance and benefits. Overall good training models, military friendly.
Cons – Corp management is out of touch with region employees, great managers quit or are fired. Region OM's are less experienced than the people they manage. Good ol boy system is fully in place. Ideas are not welcomed, micro manage is the standard. Account managers are told to manage reports not their business. Not enough compensation for the hours of work you put in. Loves to hire military, however the leadership brought to the table by veterans is fostered.
Advice to Senior Management – Promote based on experience, not whom you like better. Gain control of region VP's, and ensure they are leading by example. Don't be afraid to get rid of bad employees so that you retain the good ones.

I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time
Pros – Friendly environment, salary is competitive, access to industry leading tools.
Cons – Employee manager lacks ability to be a leader, allows other junior employees to control and manipulate company rules and policy's. Good ole' boy network is obvious to the point that senior managers have given up. Moral is very low among managers.
Advice to Senior Management – Stand up and take charge. The same mistakes are repeated day after day. The same employee's continue with same daily company violations. You have the policies in place to change these things, time to take charge and do your job as SR Manager. Manage your fleet managers.

I worked at J.B. Hunt full-time for more than a year
Pros – great company, good pay rate, friendly staff who is very helpful for drivers
Cons – some drivers seem to get more miles and the owner/operators get preference over company drivers from what I saw. Company drivers do a lot of sitting and waiting for loads. Load miles too short, Not many loads over 250 miles. That is J B Hunt way of doing business. They take the short loads no other company wants and they are making money. It is just not great for a driver! Mostdrivers like
Advice to Senior Management – Maybe they can look at getting more long mile loads. Things may have changed since I was there.

I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time for more than a year
Pros – Catered lunches at $5.00. Exercise equipment, locker rooms. Nice walking/running track and healthy living programs coordinated by HR.
Cons – Extremely stressful. Mediocre pay for the work done. Very small raises. Bonuses always seem to end up being lower than projected due to something lowering our EPS (like payouts to retirees).

Pros – Great Management Experience, Pay is Decent, Good Benefits
Cons – Long Hours, Poor Communication Between Account Management and Supervisors working in the office. No work/life balance.
