    Pros

Consistent miles and pay. Dedicated route.

    Cons

Winter weather, unrealistic DM. No vacation pay. No sick days.

    Advice to Management

Go out for a week or more on a variety of real loads, not just a ride along around the yard.

  2. JB. Hunt is a trucking company that acts exactly like a trucking company.

    Pros

You can work anywhere in the country. They have locations and driving jobs that can satisfy almost anyone.

    Cons

Very hard to get promoted up from a driver to an office position even though they talk about doing this. Very business driven and not driver driven.

    Advice to Management

Focus on creating a cohesive team with your management and drivers. This will lower turnover and strengthen customer company relationships.

    Pros

Not much left anymore, but there's still hope.

    Cons

benefits are high, better off with obamacare, no room for advancement unless you can pucker up & kiss every pompous butt there. It really went down hill once the big man passed.

    Advice to Management

Not going to say, wouldn't make any difference, they wouldn't listen anyway.

    Pros

The pay was great. There are very few jobs you can get fresh out of college that will pay this well. There are plenty of opportunities for advancement. They give you a lot of power to make decisions.

    Cons

There is no work/life balance. You are expected to work both Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. Every holiday works this way. You will work very long hours. After you are home since you have a company laptop and cell phone you are still required to work.

    Advice to Management

    Staff more.

  10. Helpful (1)

    False advertising! What a disappointment.

    Pros

If you live in NW Arkansas, they will likely hire you eventually due to constant turnover in basic positions.

    Cons

Poor leadership, no core values, no sustainable culture, high turnover of talented leaders and meritless promotion of less talented 'hanging on' leaders. Brokerage operation is a true sweat-shop with commission driven cold-calling, just look around at the age group...they draw desperate college grads in only to grind-them-up in 6 months or so. No cafeteria, the gym is a joke, being an executive is a social status achievement and contributes to the absolute void of direction by the organization.

    Advice to Management

spend more time and energy building the values of the organization and less time feeding-off the company earnings. Address real leadership gaps, create and empower a true performance management process.

    Pros

Offer locations all over the country with room for growth.

    Cons

Requires long hours and often times can be discouraging.

    Advice to Management

    Consider employees work/life balance.
