I have been working at Johnson Controls full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Reputation of consistently delivering on customer expectations. Often hear from customers that JCI are great to deal with.

    Cons

Australia business is very conservative and traditionally have taken very little risk in emerging markets, pefer instead to follow trends as opposed to being the market leaders they are well positioned to be. Do not leverage extensive global expertise very well. Geographical structure creates challenges to service large national and multinational customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Business revamp to better suit customer changing needs by adding value and providing solutions to their business challenges. Products focus and transactional mentality needs to change to reposition JCI in the marketplace as a service and solutions provider

I have been working at Johnson Controls full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

You get the support of Head Quarters, management allows the flexibility to work from home, from the office and gives you comp time when you work extra hours.

    Cons

All the new technologies we are rolling out internally are still having issues and it seems like we are trying to do to much to quickly.

I worked at Johnson Controls as a contractor for more than 5 years

    Pros

I worked with Johnson Controls for six (6) years on two (2) sites until the contract was completed.JCI should maintain the previously trained JCI field administrative staff to help the Project Managers to work more efficiently.

    Cons

JCI does not maintain the previously trained JCI field administrative temporary staff. Knowing the process prevents the Managers not having to train the way JCI things should be done,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain a pool for previously office temps to work in the field. Knowing the Johnson Controls field business needs assures the temp employment the personal growth with the acceptance of no JCI benefits.

Former Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Holland, MI (US)

I worked at Johnson Controls full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The compensation was very good, above average in general. Bonus was also good when there was one. There is definitely room for growth and promotions in the company but it seems like there are more opportunities if you work in the head quarter in Milwaukee, WI as its the common case for companies.

    Cons

Lot of overtime hours if you are in the Automotive business. At the end, the automotive business was sold to Visteon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more training for the employees. Benefits can also be better.
