I have been working at Juniper Networks

    Pros

Some smart people and good information sharing online tools are decent to work with. The culture is a competitive one.

    Cons

There has been a lot of changes in the staffing in the last 2 years, and the culture has changed quite a bit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The need to have more education programs for partners is essential. More online tools and resources should be made available to partners to empower them with ability to create sales and opportunities. The product feature velocity needs to be improved in areas where there is plenty of catchup needed.

not clear strategy in the short, medium and long term. For example, the new CEO was replaced after few months and it is not clear how to fulfill the internal vision to the future.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

Great salary and benefits - the company is really set up well to look after employees. The HR and Talent Matters process is really good.

    Cons

Ugly culture in the wake of the changes - there is not enough good leadership, other than the CEO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being a team means more than organising drinks - it's about making sure that everyone is contributing and playing to their strengths and being honest with people if they aren't.

I have been working at Juniper Networks

    Pros

Good people, good management, its'a a company that 's big enough to engage the large opportunities and small enough to care about the outcome.

    Cons

Product range is still somewhat limited. Market penetration is getting better but needs work. Marketing doens't exist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some money on marketing - for every dollar you put in you'll get back three,... That's how CISCO does it.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been working at juniper about 5 years. Juniper has a lot of talented engineers who are innovating everyday to solve many technical challenges in our modern economy. They have a lean presence in real estate, They are very flexible with remote work arrangements. Vacation days are plenty. I have been lucky enough to have hands off bosses who let you work at your pace as long as your clients are happy and you are meeting all obligations.

    Cons

the NYC office could use a facelift. Its a nice sales office but I feel the public spaces can be made much nicer since we have to meet potential clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the 'internet of things' concept will require lots of connectivity and security challenges. lets meet those in the commercial space and listen to businesses suggestions which can make their lives easier. lets get ahead of the game so we dont miss out like we did in the 100mb switching space.

    I worked at Juniper Networks

    Pros

It's a big corporation where you can learn a lot. If you a sales person or an engineer or simply a very ambitious personality, that's the place to be. You can learn a lot in Juniper as they have great trainings.

    Cons

It feels very much like the big American corporation. You need to play the game - be political about your job and to always seek new opportunities within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To try to reduce the turn over. Otherwise, the people they train are soon after working for the competition with the knowledge acquired in Juniper.

    Pros

very good culture, technology, and direction

    Cons

strategic investments in market segments due to finite R&D dollars compared to major competitor CISCO. This means you won't get every bell and whistle the competition has.
