Worst job I have ever had.

    Pros

I did meet a few very nice people who were treated poorly here and together we managed through it.

    Cons

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God. The owners are very greedy. Immediate "hire's remorse". One of the worst times of my life, second only to the year both of my parents passed away. I have been with my new employer (very happily) for almost a year now and am still very bothered by the way I was personally treated at Kiddie Academy. I have never seen so many unhappy people under one roof. A terrible shame. In a term I learned from the owner herself, "triflin' ".

    Advice to Management

    Humble yourselves.

  2. Great place to work

I have been working at Kiddie Academy

    Pros

It's like a family, everyone truly cares about the children and each other

    Cons

Low pay(but that's normal in childcare)

    Advice to Management

The owner of the one I work at seems to care more about money then the employees but everyone else is great

I have been working at Kiddie Academy

    Pros

Working with Children, if you work in day care-education you have to love what you do. They have a curriculum written for you so if you want to you can use that. I didn't like it but its available. I happen to be very lucky and work with people I loved.

    Cons

It is franchised, so every center is different. They all follow corporate policy, yet are given a lot of freedom to run as they see fit. Expectation and paper work is very high, with very little help. It is also daycare so the pay is not very much.

    Pros

The company seemed to work with teachers, not against them. I did not work there for a long time, because I had to leave due to a family situation, but the director was fair and had an open ear.

    Cons

The room I worked in was rather large, and did not agree with one of the assistant directors who thought it tactful to yell at children in order to gain a response from them.

    Advice to Management

The director was good, but I feel the assistant director needs a bit of training when dealing with challenging children.

    Pros

Your co-workers are really a team. Everyone works together
They were really flexible about time off.

    Cons

Very low pay for a lead teacher.
    Very few raises given.
They claim to promote form within, but they do not.
    Very high turn over rate
High turn over rate for management
Not a lot of appreciation given to staff

    Advice to Management

Be supportive to your teachers. When there are 7,8,9 children that are making it impossible to teach the majority of students, a plan needs to be put into action by management. Additional help and hands need to be put into that classroom and your employees need to feel that they matter.

    Pros

The director and my co-workers are very nice and welcoming. Any job where you work with children is awesome! The center is very nice, clean, and professional.

    Cons

The owner does not seem to care or appreciate the employees and is only interested in making money. The hours are very long and the pay is not too good.

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding when it comes to the teachers. Our job is not that easy or simple.

    Pros

good hours good teachers to work with

    Cons

The management team sucks . from the regional director to the center director Hena in Gainesville. They treat the employees like dirt don't want to pay them half the time and cut your hours every chance they get. Not to mention they don't hardly feed the children and on occasion water down the milk when they don't want to by any

    Advice to Management

There is not a lot of good things to say about this place but management needs to value the employees they have working there instead of making them feel like you are doing them a favor by working there. The owner needs to be more hands on instead of letting a 23 yo child TRY and run the center by micro management

I have been working at Kiddie Academy

    Pros

    Hours are great
    Staff is close
    Owner is fantastic
    Parent and kids are great
It's a job where you work hard, but also get to have fun

    Cons

The hardest part of working there is almost constant drama. It's very "cliquey". If you can look past that, you will be fine.
Pay is rather low. Especially for a lead teacher.
