I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – One of the top 3 Oxygen companies in the country, many locations, great staff.
Cons – Write off too much money to get business, hurts them in the end. No room for advancement, starting pay stinks.
Advice to Senior Management – The competition ran away with CB bids, what were you thinking? No new business for 36 months and a price cut on existing? Seems like we are headed in the wrong direction.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – I was mostly my own boss. Only spent a few hours in the office, then was on the road seeing patients. Boss generally didn't care what I did as long as patients and accounts were happy and reports were turned in when due. The key is getting in with a good office.
Cons – No real advancement for clinicians. The only real opportunity was Regional Healthcare Specialists, which seemed like a lot of paperwork and reports. Very stingy with equipment. Often had to hustle and "borrow" form other branches.
Many employees claim they don't care about patients, but big business healthcare in general doesn't care about patients. I cared and made sure my patients got what they needed. That's all that mattered. If you weren't able to, you weren't trying hard enough.
The sales people they hire barely function as humans. It was a revolving door. They put them up in St. Louis or Clearwater for 2 weeks and they return just as dumb as before, then quit or get fired 2 months later.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop worrying about YOUR bonuses and car allowances and hire competent people. If you pay nothing you are going to get nothing in return.

I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than a year
Pros – Easy to get a job
Cons – Horrible company to work for. Extremely high turnover rate in each area. They don't pay their employees what they are worth and expect a lot. After over a year at Lincare I quit and since then they have had 3 managers, 2 sales reps leave.

I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Lincare is a stable company, especially during times of economic hardship. I worked in the warehouse, which is low-stress.
Cons – Being a warehouse position, the pay is low, and there is little room for growth. As a result, the turn-over rate is high, and motivation low.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat workers with respect, and offer more incentives to stay!

I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – *No shortage of job opportunities, because someone's always leaving!
*Possibility to stay with the same company if you move around the country.
Cons – *Reputation for revolving door of employees at all center positions is well deserved. In my 2 years: 2 Center Managers, 3 CSRs, 3 HCSs, 2 Sales Reps, and 4 drivers. After 2 years of service, I have more seniority than 19of 21 people in my immediate area.
*Huge ever-growing, ever-changing expectations at all positions - especially for the CM and the Sales Reps. (The moving target/flavor of the month syndrome)
*Equations for determining number of center employees equates to a skeleton crew, at best. This is the perfect recipe for disaster.
*Continual focus on numbers disallows any focus on patient's needs OR employee satisfaction.
Advice to Senior Management – Make positive decisions to invest some short-term profit back into the company. This includes hiring more staff! Set a long-term goal of making this company one of the most secure, profitable and respected companies in the industry. It would be better to make $100,000 for 25 years than to make $150,000 for 5 years and be out of business because you have no employees left.
It really is a shame that a company consistently making $250 MILLION profit PER QUARTER, has such poor resources and compensation.

I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than a year
Pros – all the overtime you want. Lincare is so chronically understaffed that they need thier employees to work all the hours they are will to.
Cons – OVERWORKED FOR LITTLE COMPENSATION! The pay is ridiculous. Sure overtime is avaliable but there is no work life balance so its just miserable
Advice to Senior Management – be more transparent. Lincare does not believe in training and developing thier employees, its all about getting by with the least amount of workers. Sad

I have been working at Lincare Holdings full-time for more than a year
Pros – IF you get into a center that has good people you can survive this place a little longer than most.
Cons – Not enough pay for what is expected. This company only cares about the bottom line. Many times Customers are left with no service or waiting for someone who never shows. Billing is much more important than customer service. If you are looking for a Customer Service this is not for you. To hear people suffer and not get the service they deserve is heartbreaking. Lincare is always changing and buying out other local DME company's, which means your job is never secure because there are frequent management and employee changes. People get fired left and right along with others who have nervous breakdowns because of the pressure. Training? Stinks, they dont have a training program together. Even smaller company's have class room style training, It took over 6 months to get in most of the training that the company requires. Watch for those little slips of paper they have you signing and if you get written up once, that means there is a target on your back. They use "creative" firing methods very well and above all trust no one in this company.
Advice to Senior Management – Create a TEAM environment. This is a horrific and stressful place to work but if you can offer some relief and support people in your center will work harder for YOU. There is no recognition for anything done well and no rewards. Maybe its time to implement these. Local Newsletter? Company functions? None. What makes employees feel good about working for Lincare? Fundraising for the local community or showing that you care is nonexistent.
