Pros – i have had the pleasure to work with a great professor as my supervisor. That mean all my professional needs were met, and i was allowed to take the time required to ensure a good balance between my personal life. a number of opportunities were given to me allowing me to complete my PhD even ahead of schedule

Cons – being a PhD student, your time at Loughborough might very well rely on working with a good supervisor. if you are unlucky enough to get a supervisor who has no time for you or does not stop to think about your needs as a person and student, and instead demands that you do as they say, it can be very very taught to complete successfully your research within the 3 years, and you will definitely not enjoy it

Advice to Senior Management – provide anonymous reviews by researchers on how friendly and easy to work with supervisors are. i have heard so many sad stories from students who are really desperate but can not do much about it

Pros – Excellent scenery and sporting facility. Quite a friendly environment with enormous amount of team work. State of the art engineering facility.

Cons – Job insecurity is high. Very quiet and lonely town. Little encouragement about good work done. Unnecessary training courses that waste productive time.

Advice to Senior Management – maintain the facility on ground. Encourage fellow researchers more about god work done. Be more concerned by researcher's well being.

Pros – Good links with industry, so some networking can provide with industrial partners for research proposals. Very competitive with other universities, hence there is always a motivation, which can be really good.

Cons – Some departments can be biased towards some research groups, specially those which are considered the "strength of the department". So if you are in the strength groups, you would love working here, but if you are not it can be quite difficult to survive.

Cons – - Limited choice of good restaurants in town
- The local bus service is overpriced

Pros – It was good work...hard working but well worth it and i believe that other should take the oppurtuniy to work for such a business

Cons – it was slow at times and they did not always take you seriously but then again you are just an intern so what can you expect

Advice to Senior Management – be more appreciative of your employees they are willing to learn, and are capable as long as you push them as much as poss
