I worked at Manpower full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Pay was decent
    - Work was rewarding (helping others find work)
    -Great work ambiance

I truly enjoyed this job because I was helping out employees during the recession find employment to meet their expenditures. The people who worked at Manpower were really nice, and all had a positive attitude. I believe the hiring managers were really good because there was no tension in the workplace. Overall a good company.

    Cons

    - Many of the jobs offered were revolving door types of jobs
    - Not a lot of opportunities for advancement

My only real problem with the company was the lack of opportunities for advancement. I have heard that this has changed in recent years. Remember I was working for Manpower during the peak of the recession so I am sure this had something to do with it. Either way I would have liked for more opportunities as I was would have enjoyed working at Manpower for a longer period of time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Let employees know of realistic advancement opportunities

I worked at Manpower as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

They can get you a job right away into a company and have all the right connections. Staff are friendly and know the system of finding the best fit within a company which best suits the employee.

    Cons

They collect plenty of overhead and are mostly concerned with keeping ties to the company they are contracting for rather than benefitting the well being of an employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get better trained staff who truly care about the contractors they hire rather than making it a slave trade for people.
