    Pros

    Good focus on staff training especially line staff, on staff awareness of the company and company goal - movement available overseas for the right person

    Cons

    Managers can get left behind with focus on line staff
    Growth in all areas of the world with set standards can be a negativtive as countries do not always have the available items/goods/regulations

    Pros

    Marriott opens a door of opportunities to talented people who enjoys what they do. Marriott embodies a culture and values - "look after the associates (staff members) and the associates will look after the business."

    Cons

    Busy operation - need to be on your toes at all times. Working on different individuals with different communication styles and culture.

    Keep the momentum going, be healthy and exercise regularly, keep up with the world news, read books related to managing people and the hospitality industry.

    Pros

    Great benefits and located around the globe. I worked for franchised hotels, so I only had access to select Marriott benefits. The employee discounts on hotel rooms are awesome!

    Cons

    It is a 24/7 business so be prepared to work hard. But it is rewarding work that give out what you put into it.

    Love MGS, it is an awesome resource that brings the whole company together.

    Great place good people pay is decent depending on where you live but very good company

    Cons

    Depends on the hotel your at management can be really good or really bad Marriott as a whole makes it hard for someone to give you a hard time but if your not on top of things it can go bad fast just know the associate handbook

    Easy-going guests and colleagues, and occasional free food and company events.

    Cons

    Theft within the employees, staff can be untrustworthy (housekeeping, maintenance or young front desk). They blatantly take your lunch items or steal from wallet if not kept securely in lockers.

    Easy tips. Can be fast pace. Good pay. Nice hotel. The work environment is very friendly and plenty places to move around to.

    Cons

    Overnight. Working overnight can be hard especially if you are doing it and going to school it can be difficult. Also you may come across rude guest.

    Fun and friendly environment to work in. Very accommodating for school.

    Hours may be inconsistent. It all depends on the how much business the hotel has at the time. Usually pretty slow during some of the winter months.
