Current Employee – been working at Medical Services of America full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good benefits, friendly coworkers, not bad hours
Cons – poor communication between staff and regional office, salary vs hourly staff expectations
Advice to Senior Management – Hourly and casual status staff are expected to work and put forth extra effort when salary staff do not have to. Salary staff should be expected to put forth more!
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Medical Services of America full-time for less than a year
Pros – great proximity to st pete and clearwater
Cons – jobs are not really what they are advertised to be; manager at this location lacks management skills and is verbally abusive; local manager does not know the company well enough to train office staff; long-term office staff is devious and manipulative and feels threatened by new office staff who are better educated and more experienced, so she sabotages your efforts to successfully complete the introductory period
Advice to Senior Management – be more selective about the administrators you hire, take action when complaints are brought against long-term staff

Current Employee – been working at Medical Services of America
Pros – If you work in a good location it is just ok, if not then see it as a paycheck everyday
Cons – adding to the review under more responsibilities..... plus the home office micromanages your every move with the bb and they do a poor job deciding whose main job it is to sell what. Annual meetings that don't offer anything new -same vendors, same stuff. They could use the money they spend on the meetings to improve salaries and benefits and that would improve attitudes.
Advice to Senior Management – Get better directors on the board. You might attract qualified applicants if you beefed up the skimpy benefits and salaries.

Former Employee – worked at Medical Services of America
Pros – Good intro to medical sales
Cons – Will try to bully you and make you do more jobs or cover other branches than what you were hired for and not give any extra compensation for it. LOTS of layoffs lately with small severance packages. Upper management of DME division doesn't listen to or communicate with reps. Minimal training. Very small marketing budget and getting approval on and paid back for on anything extra is a long process and huge hassle. Don't plan on doing any lunches. Went to "central intake" on many locations so orders are processed at corporate not the branch and its a disaster. As soon as you exceed your quota on any of the maybe 8 items you can make commission on they will raise them and you only get paid on what is over your quota. Negotiate a good base since that is all you will make even though they till you there is no cap on commissions and the commissions are very small. No monetary incentive to work very hard.
Advice to Senior Management – Change the commission structure so your reps will try! Not just try to not get fired. Get rid of central intake.

Former Employee – worked at Medical Services of America
Pros – Flexible hours for a temp worker.
Some cool people to work with but anyone above you isn't worth saying hello to. They won't do the same for you.
Cons – Senior management (A.K.A. Corporate) is in another building next door and does not bother checking on any of the worker bees. Pay is terrible. Management shuffles most of the employees every few months and it's not even under the pretense of cross training.
Advice to Senior Management – Compensation
Diversity

Former Employee – worked at Medical Services of America
Pros – Friendly environment with access to upper management
Great work/life balance
Family based work atmosphere with a dedicated patient focus mentality
Cons – Opportunity to advancement but without increase in compensation
Could buck up the technology to increase access to patient information
Overall, a really great place to work!
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work and thank you for allowing your employees to have a voice regarding policy and procedure!
