    Pros

The best thing about working at NOV was the office culture. All of the employees were very dedicated to the company and the work they are doing.

    Cons

The company seems like they could hire more employees. We were constantly behind on work because there was not enough individuals to get things done.

I have been working at National Oilwell Varco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

NOV was very kind to me in both compensation and training. Many opportunities with old senior management. Your voice was heard and taken account for.

    Cons

NOV facility is under new complete management , its core values are not respected by new management staff . New Management has no real world experience in oil & gas industry. They make constant mistakes on personnel and general staff morale it at lowest ever been. Promotion are non existent now with new management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Very little since they refuse to talk to any one with years experience and trying to replace all older staff.

I have been working at National Oilwell Varco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Stable job situation; low micromanagement; wide range of products and services; Benefits are excellent and Vacation days afforded to new employees is the most I have seen anywhere; Opportunity is there to learn and gain valuable experience in the Oil and Gas Services Industry

    Cons

Working environment is far too political; Salary is below what competitors pay; little opportunity to develop skills and move up in one's career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider taking more consideration with where employees want to take their careers, instead of putting them on career paths based on what they perceive they would be best in. Strengths analysis is important to determine where an employee will best fit, but there should be more focus as well on where the employee wants to work at.
