    Pros

People are very focused on success, success is very well congratulated.
No deal is off the table if you can sell the idea of it, you are left to drive your own business.

    Cons

A little ambiguous in the way you need to run your own show. Management are very focused on forward looking and ensuring that numbers are met which is fair enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little more matrix management to ensure that communication flows are a little more pronounced so as to remove ambiguity.

    Pros

You will succeed if you want to, plenty of career growth and opportunity. Work/Life balance works really well for me. Great work environment and facilities

    Cons

Some in position are there because of the quick growth, not because of they are deserving.
To much meeting and not enough doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, if you are not going to listen don't ask the questions and push everyone to answer.

    Pros

Great company with an open an collaborative culture. No inhibitions in talking to executives. Company offers decent benefits in stocks, salaries, health care and 401K.
Work life balance is great as you can be flexible with work hours.

    Cons

Doesn't have the same growth and success as it had a few years ago. Slowing down is affecting bonus and comp raises.

Current Employee - Member Technical Staff, Software in Pittsburgh, PA (US)

I have been working at NetApp full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a small site (Pittsburgh) within the company. Great work culture compared to other larger sites.
You have to put in a lot of work to get recognized and move up the ladder. Good work is definitely recognized.
The engineers will have the option to stay on the technical side as they grow up the ladder.

    Cons

A lot of process hampers engineering efforts, especially around QA. A lot of engineers working on one product slows things down (especially around code line management).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remove unnecessary process.

Current Employee - Support Account Manager in Morrisville, NC (US)

I have been working at NetApp full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on the job you have, there is a very relaxed culture. Work/Life balance is very important. Pay was higher than when i was asking. Great on-site benefits (beer bash, discounted on-site oil changes, discounted on-site auto detailing, free onsite gym, great cafe, social events)

    Cons

There are some positions that are very stressful and tend to have high turnover. This tends to make things more stressful as staffing tends to suffer due to turnover. Sr Management has acknowledged this issue and are working to fix it.
