I worked at NetApp full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People are very focused on success, success is very well congratulated.
No deal is off the table if you can sell the idea of it, you are left to drive your own business.

    Cons

A little ambiguous in the way you need to run your own show. Management are very focused on forward looking and ensuring that numbers are met which is fair enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little more matrix management to ensure that communication flows are a little more pronounced so as to remove ambiguity.

I have been working at NetApp full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I have been at NetApp for two years now, and it is the first company in my 20+ year sales career where I feel like everyone in the company works for me. While there has probably been a couple, I cannot think of a time where I received push back on a reasonable request. Sales management is respectful and isn't constantly badgering me on deal status, etc.

    Cons

Few people want to leave NetApp, especially if they are under performers, so you will run into people that are barely qualified to do the jobs they hold.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep focusing on the culture of respect.

    Cons

Sometimes too political, decisions are slow. Not everyone is treated equally, favoritism.

Implement changes in organization to allow for faster changes and decision making - too many layers of low added value managers/directors.
