    Pros

I worked at NetApp full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People are very focused on success, success is very well congratulated.
No deal is off the table if you can sell the idea of it, you are left to drive your own business.

    Cons

A little ambiguous in the way you need to run your own show. Management are very focused on forward looking and ensuring that numbers are met which is fair enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little more matrix management to ensure that communication flows are a little more pronounced so as to remove ambiguity.

I have been working at NetApp full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I have been at NetApp for two years now, and it is the first company in my 20+ year sales career where I feel like everyone in the company works for me. While there has probably been a couple, I cannot think of a time where I received push back on a reasonable request. Sales management is respectful and isn't constantly badgering me on deal status, etc.

    Cons

Few people want to leave NetApp, especially if they are under performers, so you will run into people that are barely qualified to do the jobs they hold.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep focusing on the culture of respect.

I have been working at NetApp as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

The people at NetApp RTP are great. They are kind, smart, and talented - I can learn an extreme amount from every individual here. The culture and perks are also phenomenal, and it truly helps with stress management. There is a great amount of flexibility with work-life balance, and it is overall enjoyable working here.

    Cons

I faced some corporate politics which, I believe, produced nearly one year of wasted work for two developers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Strategizing between management and the engineers can be improved. Upper management performed activities upon our work without communicating or understanding our perspectives. Their actions were deleterious to our work, and I would like to see more mitigation and focus on the young developers who possess the creative minds. I felt like my ability to exercise my intellectual freedom was curbed to zero. If NetApp is to thrive, innovation must as well.
