    Pros

Great company with amazing benefits for full time employees. Competitive salaries for entry level employees. Very diverse workforce.

    Cons

May be difficult to move into management positions. Most hires in PC/LAN start out as contractors and could take a while to move into full-time employees with the company.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the length of time that contractors have to wait to become full time employees. It would help worker morale.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. You get to work with a lot of talented people that can teach you a lot.

    Cons

Hours and off days can be rough. There is not a good quality of life and management knows it but does not care to change it. Most employees are miserable and resent management but because most do not have any higher education they cannot find a better job.

    Advice to Management

Quit micro managing people. If you treat your employees better they will work hard, if not then NS will always be the smallest class 1 railroad.

    Pros

Decent Benefits and good for college graduates with no experience.

    Cons

Poorly organized, micromanaged, long hours, and almost half of your monthly pay comes out in taxes and railroad retirement.

    Advice to Management

It would benefit the OJT program if the trainee had only one or two trainers and was able to do the job without upper management interfering by adding more work and silly progress reports.
