    Pros

ON Semiconductor has some of the best work-life balance opportunities for employees. Employees have work from home options and managers are pretty hands-off when it comes to work schedules. The company is very results driven so as long as your getting your work done, they are really good about letting you manage your own schedule. I also enjoy the sense of community the company has built with community evolvement, employee gatherings, etc.

    Cons

The overall leadership needs a lot of improvement. The company continues to expect more and more from employees but without additional resources. The company runs lean so you have to be ready to wear many hats and juggle multiple tasks at one time.

    Advice to Management

Training needs to be a priority within groups. Managers also need to take more interest in an employee's career paths and developing their team members.

variety of markets and products gives the company strength to weather economic variations, calm and collaborative management style, targets compensation to meet competition. very good at supply chain management

    Cons

many, many, many different businesses that compete for limited internal manufacturing resources. company runs very lean and you have to be ready to work hard without a lot of support

    Advice to Management

    focus more

    Pros

ON pays a competitive salary in the semiconductor industry. ON has grown through acquisition of older technology semiconductor companies.

    Cons

Since ON has grown through acquisition, the business intelligence systems are numerous and highly varied.

The Phoenix corporate HQ has no manufacturing. However, there is still a residual of engineering remaining. The HQ structure could lean out by having only business unit managers and delegate the engineering to the manufacturing sites.

Management is still top down with remnants of cronyism.

    Advice to Management

Decentralize engineering work to the sites. HQ should be a business management site alone.

    Pros

Great benefits, good working environment, employees are able to work on any number of exciting assignments. Really positive and interesting place to work.

    Cons

Very cost sensitive to the point where it sometimes feels counterproductive.

    Pros

The people were really good to work with there. I never felt like there was a potential problem with any of my coworkers while I was there. The work itself was pretty laid back but still challenging.

    Cons

The company is cheap and it seems that all they care about is the bottom line. The office culture there definitely needs some work.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to spend a little bit of money to improve the culture or add some perks for employees. You would probably see increased productivity and a lower turnover rate.

    Pros

My manager is extremely sharp and my group is definitely going places. Lots of fun being a part of that team. Team-oriented and helpful environment. The compensation as an intern was very competitive--I was given a strategic voice on the team, even as an intern, and there wasn't much politics to speak of. I honestly believe I have the best internship at the whole company.

    Cons

I've seen a real lack of aggression in pursuing new technologies, which has occasionally hurt product groups. Hiring comes in odd cycles. Some groups with untouchable management entertain consistent layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Pursuing new technologies should play a key role in the development of more product lines. Creative marketing rarely enables growth in low revenue, low margin legacy portfolios.

    Pros

Not much stress (could be a bad thing), layback relax working environment
Good place to build career foundations
Good place for retirement or for those who just want to past time while getting extra cash

    Cons

Little chance of promotion due to most colleagues stay till retires
Some managers can be very bias
Old timers are stumbling blocks to new ideas & talent retention

    Advice to Management

Improve career development for the high potential employees
Old timers who been there for over 25 years need to move on to other positions, they are hindrance to new ideas & younger employees
