I worked at Old Navy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Fun atmosphere.
Great opportunities for learning and growth.
    Full time benefits are great.
Some part time benefits are available.

    Cons

    Company changes direction too often.
Upper leadership (district and up) don't always have store experience.
Work/life balance is tough...which is expected of a retail job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate should really dive into store operations as to not set out unrealistic expectations.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

pays well, works with your schedules, short hours, training is done by sales associates, and you are kinda left to figure the rest out as you go.

    Cons

Management only schedules four hour shifts, rarely more than that. i hate when new hires just start, but most learn quickly or they are just not scheduled, but honestly most people quit or don't show up.

I have been working at Old Navy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

Ability to get promoted limited. You can't apply for openings in area or regional management . You have to rely on one person your market's manager to sell you forward. But it's difficult when they don't know you, so it's a favorites game.We had a store manager get promoted to area leadership over several more experienced managers. Some of them had even been regional managers for other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more transparent. Path to do more is very murky

    I worked at Old Navy

    Pros

Old Navy had such a welcoming attitude towards employees and their customers. Not only do you get experience in sales, you get experience interacting with other humas on a positive level.

    Cons

Dealing with unhappy customers is always a little stressful. But with the right attitude, you can really turn the experience into a learning moment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would suggest training everyone on the register so there is enough back up. I would also suggest having everybody work a shipping shift so everyone understand all the merchandise is laid out.
