Current Employee – been working at Old Republic

Pros – Decent company with OK benefits that has managed to weather the mortgage crisis relatively intact.

Cons – Very decentralized and not often focused on big picture issues.

Advice to Senior Management – Pay your employees what they're worth.

Pros – Location is good -- on Michigan avenue and centrally located.

Cons – The people I worked with here were just plain mean. Sexual Harassment was rampant and nothing was done about it. HR was a joke. At best it was an extremely boring place. I have worked at a few different companies -- this was by far the worst ever -- a living hell. Keep your sanity and stay away from this place!!!

Advice to Senior Management – The management is stodgy and set in their ways -- so any advice offered would not go far -- I will save my breath.

Pros – Location rocks - on Michigan Ave, close to public transportation

Cons – Favoritism is exhibited, Management is not willing to change, HR doesn't do a thing and the salary is so below avg it's a joke.

Advice to Senior Management – Stop the blatent favoritism and pay what is due

Pros – The people!! There is a high level of commitment to individual and company success that shows in the decisions made and actions taken.

Cons – Knowing that there may be times when a plan holder will be disappointed because we don't cover "everything". Many plan holders have not read the plan and do not know what items are covered, so become frustrated when something they felt should be covered is clearly listed as a not covered item.

Advice to Senior Management – Share more information. When everyone knows the goals and challenges, they can become involved in solutions and strategies.
