Good, Stable Company

Director (Current Employee)
Redwood City, CA (US)

I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 10 years

ProsOracle is very diversified and encourages contact with other groups. It'a stable, profitable company with very good talent.

ConsDue to the size of the company and acquisition spree over the last years, organic innovation has decreased. Innovation now mainly comes from the acquisitions and integration of acquisitions.

Great Company!

Business Development Manager (Current Employee)
Miami, FL (US)

I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 10 years

ProsVery comfortable environment in world class company, the brand is known by every customer. You can jump from role to role, the only constant it's the change.
There is lot of deeply knowledge that the groups share and when you used to look for it, it's an advantage for you.

ConsThe Salary and compensation is not the best and there is not annual increment in salary.
Because it too large sometimes it is difficult that every line of business work as only one company.

Product Manager/Strategy III

Product Manager/Strategy III (Current Employee)
Morrisville, NC (US)

I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than a year

ProsOracle is a great place to develop your skills and learn how business works. They have great benefits and do treat their employees well. Great training is provided within the company through Oracle University. I think that Oracle is a great place to start your career, and then maybe 10 years later go back and end it.

ConsThe company is so big that it is really hard to get things done quickly. There is a lot of "red tape" for every process. Raises are very low. Even when you do make a career jump into a more senior role, the pay will usually not all come with the increased responsibility or title. Do a good job of negotiating when you first become a part of Oracle

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen promotions take place and more responsibility is given, allow for a new salary negotiation to take place. Do not just assign a new salary and say that this is what you will be paid.

Proposal manager sheparding sales team to organize, write, format and submit software proposals.

Proposal Manager (Former Employee)
Denver, CO (US)

I worked at Oracle as a contractor for more than a year

ProsVery professional in all aspects: co-workers, clients (sales teams), management, corporate information needed is well organized. Was able to work from home in inclement weather. I am so impressed with this company that I bought stock after I left.

ConsI really have no cons about this position. I was sorry that my department could not get an extension for my contract. It started at 6 months and was renewed twice, but no further authorization was available.

Great products, but easy to get lost in a large company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Oracle

ProsGreat benefits, great pay. Plenty of cool techniogy to use and learn, especially with the seemingly ongoing acquisitions. Mostly great people to work with.

ConsOrganization structure can be challenging. An aweful lot of information in many places - sometimes its difficult to find what you are looking for.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey should occasionally check for mid managers with only one or two reports.
