Its a good company to work, loads of talented people.

Member of Technical Staff (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

    ProsGreat Work Life Balance.
Lots of talented people work here, people from IIT to regional private colleges the best talents come here.
You will work as a part of global team, most teams spread across the world and all the development centers have equal value.
    Good learning opportunity.
Best place to learn Oracle from Oracle.

    ConsNo hikes, stagnant salary.
People only talk about codes, projects even in lunches, lifts.
Almost no onsite opportunity since its a product company and all the development centers have equal value. If you are part of a team that is completely spread across the globe then you may visit some countries.
Since its a global company and teams spread across various time zones one can expect a call any time from any where in the world.
Discrimination in salary based on colleges. For example an IITan gets roughly 12 lpa at the time of joining where as the numbers are 9 lpa & 6-7.5 lpa for an NITan and other lower tier college grad.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease consider hikes.
Dont discriminate new joinees based on their college. Because everyone passed the same selection procedure whether its at IIT or at any private college.

Director (Current Employee) Dublin, Dublin (Ireland)

Prosa true B2B Sales Environment. Selling complex products to international companies. Amazing Training and Career Development opportunities - 130k jobs in Oracle, there just happens to be 130k people doing them - but new opportunities open up every day if you are flexible and focused!

Conscomplex processes, slow approvals, self service culture, Silo'd lines of business, your network can be as important as your ability. competitive internally and externally.

Advice to Senior Managementcompensation drives behaviour.

Don't expect a promotion opportunity or pay raise

    Enterprise Architect (Current Employee)

ProsThe company has some great people and great products. The pay and benefits are competitive.

ConsNo pay raise in years (unless you are an executive). Can't move to another department for career advancement. Can't backfill open positions - management never signs off on hiring to fill them. Best to stay a few years and move on.

Advice to Senior ManagementSeverely limiting employee advancement is undermining your pool of talent.

    Tough but fair

Applications Sales Representative (Current Employee) Redwood City, CA (US)

ProsFantastic environment for sales people. Company culture revolves around those who are customer facing and/or revenue generating - you will never lose a deal on price, and the bag grows each year thanks to an M&A strategy that benefits reps and customers alike. Oracle continues to make training and education a priority, and employees are encouraged (and given time) to develop hard and soft skills. Good upward career mobility potential - preference for internal hires who have demonstrated the ability to navigate and excel inside the Oracle machine. Good work/life balance....except near quarter-ends.

ConsGo-to-market structure creates internal competition that shouldn't exist and is counter productive. Very process and systems intensive - overly time consuming. The recent hiring binge has shrunk territories, making it much more difficult to achieve and exceed sales quotas, causing discontent and significant employee churn. Salary increases, even when being promoted, remain elusive.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company's decision to hire top university grads to inject youth and fresh thinking was a good decision, but these millennials need to be set-up for success, and in most case they are being placed into situations where they don't feel purposeful. Equally, don't look past the experienced hires - they have been the top performers.
