    I worked at P.F. Chang's (less than a year)

    Pros

Good place for new servers, they will train you well. make good money since the bill is usually $30 per person. Be patient, when you first start it, they wont give you many tables and good shift. But once you can prove yourself to manager that you can handle more tables and providing good service, you will starting getting closing shift and better sections. So again, shut the mouth and work hard, managers can see it.

    Cons

It is coop restaurant, so be prepared for all the rules.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New hired young managers are not experienced, training will not help them.

    I have been working at P.F. Chang's

    Pros

Management is typically reasonable about a flexible schedule. Get a lot of hours if you need the money. Do not have to run food because they vest that responsibility in the back waiter staff.

    Cons

sometimes unable to work due to large amount of staff on. Very political in regards to who gets what sections (regulars who tip the best) and who can serve at the bar where the most money is typically made

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should be hired based on competencies not politics. I was under the impression that everyone that was hired as management was friends of other managers and would mimic the same practices of their friends and would lead to no management diversity.

    I worked at P.F. Chang's full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Culinary operations were always to spec; cleanliness was key, portion size, cook temps, and food handling. Training for new FOH employees was in depth and executed well. Paid vacation for management is nice. AOR's are clearly defined, expectation are clear.

    Cons

If you are in management, expect very long days and long hours. You will work every holiday. Expect to work hourly jobs, bussing tables, working as the expo, answering phones at the host stand. Since PFCB will not allow for any extra FOH or BOH labor, those roles are filled by managers. After the buy out from Centre Bridge, PFCB modified their bonus structure, impacting every manager. Salaries are laughable compared to competitors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Share works of encouragement with management. Do annual reviews to let them know where they stand and can improve.
