Current Employee – been working at PPL
Pros – The people are all respectful. Corporation is committed to safety and compliance. The company's management will take time to talk to employees at any level of the org chart.
Cons – The people are all respectful. Corporation is committed to safety and compliance, even at the expense of making money
Advice to Senior Management – RAISE THE WAGES. PPL does not pay a market wage. It also shows a huge bias toward external candidates at the expense of passionate and committed internal candidates

Former Employee – worked at PPL
Pros – Benefits
friendly coworkers
annual review process (annoying to complete but gave excellent feedback on my performance)
easy commute from anywhere in the Lehigh Valley
Cons – Allentown. I wouldn't have left if the company had been located closer to Philadelphia or New York City. I felt safe during the day - coming and going to my car or going out for lunch, but the area didn't have enough to offer.
Advice to Senior Management – Work on hiring and keeping young talent. Trips to PPL Park or maybe even a company organized trip to New York.

Former Employee – worked at PPL
Pros – From 1981 till I retired in 2003 PPL, Nuclear, was the place to work. Money was good in drafting and your work was appreciated
Cons – Turbulent times after I retired with medical costs going thru the ceiling. Only in the very begining of my career did I contribute to medical insurance. No cost medical cost was the talk from the management rep explained that there was no cost to the retiree, just look at the past. Bull I pay $370+ per month. Cheap by all standards but unexpected
Advice to Senior Management – Bring back the little things to show employees that you appreciate the work done each department. Reinstate the act of giving the small gifts when schedules are met.
