I worked at PepsiCo as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – Smart people (atleast few of them), Great renovated Cafeteria, Work on different tools and software, some technical frameworks are advanced. Not many good things to say....
Cons – Too much outsourcing in IT. They laid off a lot of people in Feb 2012 and brought a lot of people from India. The contractors were asked to join one of the outsourcing firms. Lot of good people left. My team upper management was a joke. I took upon a lot of work when some employees left but they never recognized the effort. There is not enough room in the plano office. Contractors and sometimes employees have to share cubicles.
Advice to Senior Management – Take care of your employees

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – People I've worked with have been outstanding. Excellent opportunity to learn and know different business operations. The benifits were great, but over the last couple of years the company has started to cut into them.
Cons – Hours, pay, direction given by management. High turnover causes inconsistantsies.
Advice to Senior Management – Work together and come up with an actual unified plan on how you want to move forward

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Can move up quickly. Very fast-paced. One will not get bored.
Cons – Even the most talented can get stalled or fail here. Must be able to navigate the political channels.; one does not have to directly participate. But one does need to be aware to sidestep the land mines; this soft skill is a must-have.
Advice to Senior Management – 1. Listen to your quiet ones. There are other leadership styles. The loudest or most pushy is not necessarily the one with the best solution.
2. Walk the talk. Not all of those between the CEO and the worker bees do walk the talk.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than a year
Pros – Exponential career growth opportunities, very competitive wages and full benefits, excellent training opportunities to grow individual skills and interests, great people to work with,
Cons – Military-like structure, 60+ hours week to be successful in role on average, very high pressure to perform work environment
Advice to Senior Management – Sense of urgency from upper management can be too much and often times lead to making decisions based on quick fixes vs. long term outcomes.

I worked at PepsiCo for more than a year
Pros – Name certainly looks nice on a resume --- coworkers are some of the nicest people you'll meet -- because you are all in the trenches.
Depending on what you do --- this company definitely has a vast array of CPG products -- which can give you a diversity of experience depending on your function.
Cons – Some departments are one of those places about politics, the blame game, deception, etc. You may know the type. The environment can very toxic. Sometimes senior leadership just doesn't have a clue. It's certainly not unique in this economy, but raises are hard to come by after yearly reviews.
This place also encourages the common (and disgusting) act of hiring contractors (40 hours a week) --- to do identical jobs as full time employees --- and not pay them benefits. Personally I worked full time, but still. Maybe this is standard practice in America now, but I don't support companies that follow the Walmart model. I'm typing this while enjoying a fine Coca Cola product.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good place to work and learn the beverage industry. Depending on location but team work is a must for success . Good benefits and perks to employment.
Cons – Work/life balance is in question. Big time work load and have to work at managing demanding work load and personal family life . Overall pepsi employees are paid average to underpaid for hours put in on job. Money doesn't add up.
Advice to Senior Management – You talk about work/life balance. Give frontline and location leaders support to help gain balance and complete task

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than a year
Pros – Steady advancement up the ladder, many locations around the US and World you can transfer to seamlessly, great relocation packages, competitive performance based bonuses
Cons – Long hours and irregular shifts, Unionized work forces can make life very stressful even when you're willing to work with them.
Advice to Senior Management – Emphasize people planning as much as possible to employees. Having a goal to work towards makes it much easier to come in to work every day and still care about your job when your away from the office.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Working in a truly Global company offers opportunity to cross any boundary (culture, language, location, work style) and expand your personal knowledge, influence and impact.
PepsiCo offers top-tier benefits, salary, work/life balance and continues to offer great opportunities
Amazing people that truly care for you and offers a chance to build a community of not only co-workers, but lasting friendships.
Cons – Any large corporation is going to have challenges, from pricing challenges, to cost-cutting measures. From business re-orgs to downsizings. These things happen, and they can be hard to understand. Overall, the company emerges stronger through each challenge
Work/Life balance is real, but it is difficult to obtain. You have to be your own champion and know how to hold your ground on what is important to you. Ask yourself what is truly important to you, and then work to achieve it.
Advice to Senior Management – Upper management has gotten better over the last few years of operating with transparency in sharing information with employees.
The strength of this company truly rests in the strong bench of employees as well as the products, don't discount that employees will feel more comfortable, and perform higher, when there are no big "secrets" but operating in honesty & transparency.
Sometimes there are things that cannot be shared, but acknowledging them with an honest statement that you can't comment is better than ignoring the 'elephant in the room'
