I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Looks good on resume.
Good products.
Internationally recognized.
Free fountain soda while at work and new product samples.
Newly renovated cafeteria.
Cons – Low pay and expensive benefits.
Weak/Puppet management. Micromanagement is the norm in my department.
Very little advancement for women and minorities.
Blaming the economy year after year for no raise or 1% raise.
Promotions based on personality and not productivity.
Fake open door policy. When you openly discuss a situation with your manager and he in return labels you a troublemaker.
If you don't kiss butt you are stuck in your position for life.
No respect if you're a worker bee.
In my department, you have to temp 12 to 14 months before they make you permanent and then 18 months to apply elsewhere within the company.
Dirty politics-- if your manager likes you (regardless of work ethics) you got the behind closed door promotion.
Company store offers no discounts.
Advice to Senior Management – Management is oversized. They need to get rid of half the managers. Stop promising and getting our hopes high if you cannot deliver.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Working as R&D scientist, you are guaranteed to never be bored, there is always more things to do, than time allows, always busy. This is good for people that enjoys highly dynamic environment. It takes certain personality to fit in.
The company is also very young spirited, entrepreneurial, and innovative
Cons – The downside is it's a highly political company. Who you knows matters, visibility of project matters. You won't move up the ladder just by doing a good job, truly needs to network and push for highly visible projects.
