    I worked at PepsiCo

    Pros

Great pay and benefits..... I love early hours and working on my own with little supervision.

    Cons

Long days and being away from my family so much. 50-60 hour work weeks. I often came home so tired I only wanted to shower eat and sleep in that order

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more help for the Sales Representatives so they have more time to spend with there families. Make work place a less stressful environment by being less corporate and allow Sales Representative to make good business decisions.

I have been working at PepsiCo

    Pros

I had lots of opportunities for advancement and i saw many people get promoted. You will likely experience the same if thats what you want but if you love your current role and do it well then you can stay and still get mini raises every year.

Benefits are inline with most large companies. Some probably depend on your role but can include internet, cellphone, home line, and even car. Most managers are also understanding on AMEX spending as long as it is reasonable.

PepsiCo usually you'll go to at least one large meeting a year and you can expect to be treated very well while you are there. Nice hotels, plenty of food... sooooo much food, fun group activities and if you are the type who likes to go out and party after, you will find that MANY will join you.

    Cons

With so many being promoted many times positions don't get filled for months. There is a hiring freeze every year it seems which means they can't hire for open positions so, for example, you might not have a manager for months on end. There is a re-org at least every few years. Many times it just means wrong place wrong time. Because of these re-orgs many end up picking up the slack of those who have left. You are expected to work really hard. Year after year the goals seem unattainable but if you work hard they usually are (attainable) if you work hard enough.

depending on your manager you might be asked to, essentially, be on call at all hours which can make it hard for work life balance. However, if you are great at time management you can find that balance.

Training can be great or completely non existent depending on many variables. If you push for help you will almost always get it in some form... just not always what you might have been expecting or needed.

Overall this company isn't for everyone but if you fit in with the work hard culture then it might be perfect for you. Despite some rough times I had enough great moments to still have a great feeling towards the company. It is what you make it!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to have management spots filled and maintained for at least a couple of years. Its important for a manager to have time to get to know the people they manage and not just be looking to do enough to be promoted again. It's frustrating to have to explain your business and methods year after year plus learn how their expectations/ values are different from your last manager so you can adjust to please them.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great managers, great performance culture which recognises individual performance in terms of both result and people. Work life balance is recognised - might not be the case for all Functions but was for mine.

    Cons

Head office location. Promotional increases at the time I was employed were tightly capped. Getting things signed off can take forever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to thank employees for a good job and reward them as appropriate. You do this really well.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A really great mix of people, a good office with an enjoyable and fun atmosphere, challenging work and a sense of fun, plenty of events organised for staff- lunches, talks, activities. Also a good range of employee deals like Cycle to Work, Childcare vouchers, Mobile phone discounts etc.
    Good PDR system in place.

    Cons

Because of the broad mix of people, sometimes people disagree or don't see eye to eye, and there can be a lot of variation in lifestyle choices, attitudes etc. A broad spectrum of Baby Boomers, Gen X,Y and Z so it makes for a very interesting, yet sometimes difficult environment.
