I have been working at Philip Morris International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    International company
    Big systems infrastructure
    Many paths for development

    Cons

If you want to develop your tech skills, Philip Morris is not a good idea.
Bureaucracy is huge, for every single activity it requires lot of approvals.
IT was great some years ago, and now it got stuck, basically they decided to reorganize the company and now IT is out of scope, so I cannot develop anymore the skills I want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Demotivation is already huge, I don't have a clue on how this will be fixed, working at Philip Morris today is discussing 50% of time, doing bureaucracy 40%, and doing developing any other skills 10%. Probably for many careers this is ok, for the people willing to develop technical skills it is terrible.

I worked at Philip Morris International

    Pros

Learned a lot being part of this organization. Great employees too. We were like family.

    Cons

Acquisition of Fortune wasnt a good idea at all. Organization chart is a mess with so many managers. Getting managers that are expat, slim chance for locals to occupy the post.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value people especially those who spent their lives being a good employees, giving great contributions.

I have been working at Philip Morris International

    Pros

Strong culture, aggressive (in a positive sense) and fast-paced, rewards hard work and contributions with opportunities
Strong and well developed processes - internally we feel over-engineered, externally we are often seen as state of the art
    Great talent management process

    Cons

Integration of new entrants is a challenge, but if you can hit the ground running the reward is worth it
Culture still somewhat hierarchical but beginning to change
    Not very forgiving with mediocrity

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep going but don't lose sight of those who got you where we are today. Stick with our principles that are behind our success. Remember that we need to invest in our success, even at a cost...ease down on the cost cutting.

I worked at Philip Morris International full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Very good efforts behind the managerial skills development
    - Invest on employees
    - Lots of cross-functionnal moves
    - Some exceptional individuals within the company

    Cons

    - Very arrogant top management with few ability to move fast and shift out their historical paradigm
    - Strong inertia resulting in a poor speed to market
    - Lots of useless central teams (Ex : Sales Strategy)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Philip Morris International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Brilliant PR in social media

    Cons

Extremely do not recommend for technical specialists! I had worked for several companies so I can say - PMI it's truly amateurs.
Decision about working there is one of my worst decisions in life - wasted years and potential !!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try your hand at other companies and see how you are "strong"

I have been working at Philip Morris International full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Running water in the restroom

    Cons

Senseless projects, realized just to justify the existence of managerial positions.
You know end results but manager has "historic" or "sociological" background so he dont understand what you're talking about. "Lets try because it looks really nice on Power point presentation and I've already showed the presentation to director and was very happy, Now we must do it even is it senseless and of course it's impossible to do "
