Good people.
Good exposure to the industry.
Open to ideas from all.

ConsCould take a while to move up the ranks.
Lots of Excel can be involved - which is ok if you like Excel I guess!

ProsI'll say it first. If you are have to choose a career in insurance... it's objectively one of the best choices, this coming from someone who greatly dislikes the industry. That said, their products are costly, meaning often you find yourself selling a suboptimal package from a purely cost perspective
Learn very quickly
Builds confidence in people to high pressure
Training and pressure allows you to build strong bonds which may be the main thing that stops people in the industry from leaving

ConsThe job does not discriminate between working and off-work hours
A sense that you are exploiting your friends
A strong draw to push aside your morals

ProsThe reputation of the company, nice colleagues, good office location, hands-on job experience

Consnot-so-good management style, limited on-the-job training, limited personal growth and career developments, uncompetitive compensation and benefits, bad work life balance, inflexible company culture, management are not open to improvements and changes, understaffed, not-so-good IT support
