    I worked at Qualcomm

    Pros

Benefits and work life balance are fantastic. 401-k match is generous. Office space is well maintained. You feel like they care about their employees. The company self funds its health insurance, which means you get much better coverage.

    Cons

It's a big company, so it's sometimes difficult to navigate the bureaucracy. There's some difficulty working with other parts of the chip team when they demand deliverables your team isn't equipped to provide.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on inter-team cooperation. There are gaps which cause significant inefficiency.

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Although the experience might be team dependent, my team was fantastic, project was great, manager was super chill (got to go golfing with him), and the support for interns is fantastic! We had SO many intern events and were definitely well taken care of.

    Cons

Not San Diego, CA so we sometimes didn't get to work on all the cutting edge stuff.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice perks as an intern and good compensation

    Cons

The work you do depends on the team you end up in. Work ranges from building a new product to running a few test cases (depending on which team you are in and what the team lead believes an intern must do).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None that i can think of. My managers were awesome.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time

    Pros

Fantastic company, great benefits, flexible work hours, good people to work with and lots of different departments and things to do.

    Cons

Work life balance is difficult to manage, promotions from inside are hard to come by unless you're a very political person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of the good employees you have, instead of trying to replace them with consultants that disappear.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great place to work
    Good perks+salary+training+projects

    Cons

No work life balance and the management will expect you to be active all the time including night hours.
Personal growth is sometime halted due to politics involved inside the teams.
No proper communication between engineers and senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider the life/time/health of employees before deciding on number of projects and time to complete the projects.

    I worked at Qualcomm full-time

    Pros

    working with cutting edge technology
variety of technologies and teams, you'll get a chance to move between projects
decent compensation compared to the Haifa region
work life balance in some teams is good (but terrible in others)

    Cons

moving up the title ladder requires performance but also a lot of politics, especially as you move up
the review process is a joke and looks like a marketplace
projects are frequently being canceled and the engineers spread across other teams (some might see it as a pro though)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to the soldiers in the trenches, even if it will make your reports back to SD look a little less positive

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
