Cleveland, OH (US)

Current Employee – been working at RBS worldpay full-time for more than 7 years

ProsHigh potential for pay, good people in leadership, and an attractive business plan to obtain set goals.

ConsHIGH pressure, high expecations and feedback is not taken well. It is believe that there is only one way to achieve goals and that atmoshpere and economy is the same all across the coutry.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease get into the field to experience that territories are different. They quality of people, merchants and partner opportunites are not the same in one city/region as they are in another.

ProsFriendly people, opportunities are there.

ConsPassive, disinterested management. Make a special effort to complete a project? You will not be thanked. Behaviour of colleagues is a free-for-all. Every man for himself. No quarter given.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a class on how to manage people. Educate yourself on the work that your people do. Show your appreciation of your people’s work. Thank them.

Current Employee – been working at RBS worldpay full-time for more than a year

ProsThere are residuals and base salary. They give you lots of training and support on an on going basis. They listen and make changes when possible. Always seeking out new and improved ways of delivering a world class product. Smart people in management and a diverse organization.

ConsLike any opportunity it is what you make it. This industry requires a work ethic and accountability. Also an ability to adapt and learn new processes quickly.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe wheels could move a little faster at times. However in fairness, it is not always possible.

Current Employee – been working at RBS worldpay full-time for more than 3 years

ProsStraight-up sales, walk into any business or networking event and find prospects. Enjoy autonomy, transactional sales, flexible hours, build your own business network, health care, decent training, increasingly sophisticated sales tools and infrastructure make this a fairly sticky gig. some smart folks in middle management.

ConsNo base salary. No residuals if not at quota. Less than 25% of sales team makes annual quota in the non-bank-affiliated SBM unit. Soul crushing to be instrumental in the merciless application of metrics mean that the less profitable customer accounts see regular hikes is fees, which erodes te referral base. in effect, the merchant services marketplace enforces a harsh regressive tax on the market; the smaller and more vulnerable the merchant the higher their fees will be.

Advice to Senior ManagementFirst stop being so stingy. Implement triple-bottom-line accounting. Recognize that even the business world is a community, and treat employees and customers accordingly.

London, England (UK)

Former Employee – worked at RBS worldpay full-time for more than a year

ProsIt is centrally located, has a fast-moving pace, wants to succeed, has an ambitious management team

ConsThe management team provides no leadership and direction. There is a lot of confusion as to what is happening since the company was sold by RBS to American venture capitalists. The Americans interfere in the organisation's daily business to the detriment of the company. The senior management team are disingenious, so that it is very likely that the FSA will investigate them soon. Everything is done in a haphazard and disorganised way and employees find it hard to do their jobs

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a business plan - most companies have them so should you. Do not act give incorrect information to your regulator, it will come out in the end like it has done with Barclays, RBS etc. and you will be fined. Ask the Americans to butt out, they only add to the overall confusion of the place
