    Pros

    * Gain experience in the fast moving world of open source development.
    * Free Red Hat training and certification courses.
    * Great people, everyone is really passionate about what they do and the people they work with.
    * Remote work, Red Hat has perfected the remote work experience.
    * Huge breadth of projects, from java desktop applications to cloud computing and kernel hacking projects.

    Cons

    * Not really a con, but there's not too many perks, although they're not really necessary as the projects and work environment is very satisfying in its own right.

    Advice to Management

    None, management is very unobtrusive.

Sometimes, having to work with the upstream community can be frustrating

    Pros

Red Hat provides its employees with a great working environment. In general, the people are very friendly and there is a strong sense of community within the company. The compensation and benefits are competitive. They are very flexible and are supportive in helping you balance your home and work life. I was pleasantly surprised by how interns are treated as regular employees.

    Cons

A lot of the products that are developed do not directly bring profit to the company.
