I worked at Red Lobster part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Able to make decent money as a server. Decent flexibility in scheduling except for holidays. Afternoon and evening/weekend shifts were a good time to work due to the volume of tables.

    Cons

There were frequent management changes. No benefits to speak of. As long as you are there to work hard for your tips it should be ok.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule.
    Managers are friendly.
    Money can be decent 25-35k

    Cons

    Clientel can be finicky
Tips aren't good at certain stores

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep managers at the same store longer. I've been at my store for 2 years and I've seen 1 gm, and 6 managers transfer.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great money and great atmosphere. Some people I work with have been with the company for 10-37 years, which says a lot. The money is good as a server & I am in college so it makes living a little easier.

    Cons

Some rules can limit you're full experience. Management can seem uncaring at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it easier to climb corporate ladder.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Great discount
    -ok benefits, not major medical
    -lots of hours
    -extremely flexible
-3 out of 4 great managers
    -fun atmosphere

    Cons

-What I have noticed is if you are not a pro at your job you will not get a majority of the shifts. As a host I get 30+ hours while some get 10 because I can run the host stand by myself, instead of having 2 hosts on. They save labor.
-stop with the constant talk about labor! We get it.
-more stringent policies when hiring. I can tell who will make it, and who won't. Why can't management?
-pay is unleveled. The longest hired host there makes less than a new hire. It's really embarressing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give new hires minimum wage for their first 30 days then bump them up to what they deserve. Also pay your current hosts more than what you give new hires.

I worked at Red Lobster full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, good pay through tips, insurance

    Cons

Often necessary to take more tables then the company officially allows for when understaffed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I understand that the company has to follow charts for based off of sales for different time periods and dates (holidays etc..) however it is often overwhelming on servers which causes rules to be bent to ensure customer satisfaction.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Red Lobster has been a great experience for me and is extremely flexible with the work schedule.

    Cons

People don't know how to tip, the hours can be long some days, but the money at the end of the night can be both rewarding or disappointing it sucks not really knowing how much your going to make.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the four course feast.
